Dr. John D Guletz, MD

Dr. Guletz will be retiring soon. He is an excellent doctor and has always met all of my needs and concerns for my care. I will be very sorry to see him retire and have to start with a new doctor. His staff has also always been very helpful and answered my questions and when they didn't have the answer, they found one out for me. I have been a patient of his for 11 years and have never had a problem with his bedside manner or his staff. I read the other reviews and I have no family history of my problem for seeing Dr. Guletz either but he still treated me and did what a doctor should have done. Over the years he has performed biopsies and needed scans to track the progress of my Hepatitis and prescribed treatment. The treatment at the time was not successful but it was not his fault, it was just that I fell into the percentage that was unsuccessful. I am currently waiting for the next treatment to be released so that I can try that. Dr. Guletz and his staff, as well as partnering… doctors that have taken on call emergencies, have always met my needs for a gastroenterology clinic and I would recommend this office to my friends and family as well as anyone else seeking this type of specialty.

Absolutely hated him. Rude. Didn't want to listen. Completely in the box. Not open to anything new. Has never resolved any of my issues. A "here's your pill" kind of doctor.

Dr. Guletz is a really nice man and he's a great listener and you can tell he cares but I rated low for 2 reasons. First is the way the office is run. There are several doctors in this practice and it's next to impossible to get someone on the phone. I had to call about 5 times to talk to someone (not a machine) to cancel a procedure. And the ladies at the front desk ignore you when you walk up and you have to stand there and wait forever until they slide the glass door open. The other reason I rated low is because Dr. Gulets didn't solve the issues I was having. Because I'm in my mid 20's and have no family history of gastic diseases, he didn't do anything except put me on an over the counter probiotic (good bacteria) which was expensive and didn't help me out at all. And he made me go see my OBGYN because he said my pain was due to my ovaries. Well, my OBGYN thought that was a stupid because ovaries aren't at the height of my belly botton which is where my pain was. In fact,… it was my OBGYN who diagnosed me as having severe IBS and taught me how to deal with it....something Dr. Gulets should have done. At my follow up with Dr. Gulets(which he charges for) he still didn't do anything to help me, mentioning my age and lack of family history. He was going to give me a colonoscopy to ease my mind but put on my file that it wasn't necessary because of my age and no family history, thus my insurance wouldn't cover it. Dr. Guletz is a nice guy but he totally overlooked my pain because of my age/no family history.
