Dr. John Carl Gurley, MD

I can honestly say that this is the worst doctor I have ever worked with. He was invalidating, dismissive, and condescending. He suggested that I had been taking my psychiatric medication illegally and did not believe me when I told him I was prescribed them by my psychiatrist. He interrupted me and a family member that was accompanying me, and grabbed a piece of paper that was being given to me.

My husband had a right ventricle repair on his pacemaker, and each month got progressively worse..he passed away 5 months after the surgery. He would be alive today..had he not had that revision..I'm highly disappointed in this doctor

I have no doubt that Dr. Gurley is intelligent and skilled. However, in two separate consultations with him he seemed way too talkative, disinterested in patient concerns or questions, and unfairly presumptive about patient state of mind. If your condition requires minimally invasive surgery in Central Kentucky he is reputed to be exemplary in such interventional practice. If, however, you are looking for a clinician/patient partnership with someone who will actually listen to your concerns & answer your questions in a fully engaged manner, you’re probably better looking elsewhere.

He performed a TAVR procedure on my 92 year old Mother and nailed it . She’s doing well and we think he’s top notch

Dr Gurley saved my Dad's life! He successfully replaced his pacemaker (wires & all) that was over 30 yrs old. He was supportive of us all the way and clearly communicated each step in this difficult process. He was patient and kind! He is the best!

I appreciate everything he has done for me. The Diagnosis was accurate and he was very prompt starting the procedures. He cares about his patients! Because of him I am still here to be with my bride of 63 years and able to enjoy my children and grandchildren. Thank You! 05/20/2014

Dr Gurley is an outstanding Doctor saved my life

He took my very difficult CRT instillation which took 6-7 hours but he didn't quit. Another doctor refused to even try. He told my wife that it was all difficult and complicated. I owe him a lot. I am sore and stiff, black and blue but my heart feels stronger with better blood flow. Thanks Dr.
