Dr. John Ronald Gurskis, MD

Dr. Gurskis is the most compassionate and professional doctors I've ever had the pleasure to have known.

I saw him for two years,, sometimes he was professional (rarely)and other times (quite frequently) unprofessional. He is very opinionated. Frequently, I would have to listen to his silly jokes orlisten to his alt-right opinions (Clinton is part of the Mafia, Obama was born in Africa, there is no such thing as global warning, to name a few of his views) just in order to finally have him get down to my problems, to which he doesn't listen anyway or review my chart. He's always right and the patient is always wrong. He tries to diagnosis your other medical problems for which he is not qualified, slamming especially my subspecialists for tests or directions given that - in his opinion - were not necessary. I got lectured on the "right" way to do certain things that went totally against everything my board certified specialists told me to do. Again,he was right and they were wrong. Specialties he is NOT QUALIFIED IN OR BOARD CERTIFIED IN. The last time saw him, I walked out shell… shocked by his inappropriate comments about my PCP, my personal and psychological makeup, and the bleak outcome I would have if I went through with surgery. That was an hour lecture and he was more interested in pontificating his views and never spent a moment on my pain management issue. I left and never went back. I should have done it long before. But thanks to my PCP, I was referred to a pain management specialist who LISTENS TO ME and doesn't make judgments.

This doc took me off the medicine that took forever for a doctor I have 11 years allowing me to function. He is controlling, has women issue threatens not to see you again if I try to tell him if doesn't the medication doesn't work. I feel so anxious going there,and by the time I have been there and finally get done I end up so shook up have to take something for anxiety then I sleep the rest of the day . Looking for a new pain doc who will put me back on the Fentynal so I can function again walk, and have a life.

Dr. Gurskis is the type of doctor that I wish all physicians emulated. He is extremely caring and understanding and throws in a bit of humor, as well. He is thorough in his examination and in his treatment. He guides you every step of the way during procedures and lets you know what's happening and involves you in any of the consultations and procedures. I'd absolutely recommend him to anyone in need of pain management.

He stinks as a pain doctor. He is verbally abusive. Run as fast as you can from him. He overdosed me on methadone.

I was sent to Dr. Gurskis for relief of severe back pain, having been to a neurosurgeon who ordered a lot of tests, diagnosed what I had (I was the MRI - he was absolutely right - I could see it clearly!) and said since surgery wouldn't work for me, maybe Dr Gurskis could. I had 3 series of epidurals about 8 weeks apart (in the hospital) and they were painless. They lasted a long time before I went back for a refill.

Run for the hills...don't believe the other reviews. He's the worst. You'll be sorry if you go to him....for a variety of reasons.

This Dr. is absolutely one of the rudest doctors we have ever been in contact with. He says that "we don't listen to him"...while all along he doesn't listen to us. He's arrogant, rude and abrasive. I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy. Absolutely the worst!!

Didn't listen to me, was rude and this was the first time I ever wanted to get up and leave in the middle of a doctor appointment. Made judgements about me and my condition before even doing a examination. Did nothing for me and I cried all the way home.
