Dr. John Joseph Hache, MD

I’m a recovering addict and most doctors treat me as if I’m seeking drugs but not dr hatche. He has always treated me like an actual person who has chronic pain, i appreciate that so much. I’m so grateful to have found such a wonderful doctor who will do whatever is needed to help my pain.

It's my second time seeing Dr. Hache. I think he's a great doctor, but we don't see eye to eye and I wish I would have stuck with my old pain doctor... I've tried everything there is to try for back pain and the only thing that works for me is pain pills. I switched doctors because I moved. it seems to me as though Dr. Hache doesn't really believe in pills regardless of how much pain you're really in. He wants to do an injection and I've had a bunch already, with no success.

Referred by my Ortho for residual pain right ribs from back surgery. Was hesitant for to some of the reviews. So glad I didn't listen and kept my appointments. Kind, concerned, professional. I am in the medical profession and can appreciate this. Not looking for drugs, looking for pain relief!!! His Tech Chantel is as professional as he is. Knowledgeable of procedure and Physicians needs. Fast, courteous, and concerned. I would highly recommend him for pain Management!!!!

Been seeing Dr Hache since 2016. I had a failed back surgery and he has been managing my pain. I love that he cares about the patients and is not a pill Pusher. He is genuine and treated me w the utmost care and professionalism. I drive almost 3 hours to see him several times a year and he is worth it. I don’t like pills and I requested cream instead of pill and he was very receptive. I need my mind clear and not foggy from meds to care for my family and be the best dad I can. This was one of the most uncaring doctors I've ever had. I'm inoperable and all that can be done for me is manage my pain. He refused to give me pain medication and treated me like I was a low life drug addict. I'm older, own a business, worked my whole life, and now I have a terrible back problem that has to be treated with pain meds. I seriously don't think I'm a DRUG ADDICT !

Worst possible pain doctor at UPMC who usually had top notch doctors . Had complerye spinal fusion and before I even saw him with a back full of staples and rods. He gave me a urine test and I told him brings it was Jan 9th there was a possibility that there might be thc in the sample from New Years and that beings I was not on any pain meds or seeing a doctor that I used thc to help sleep after surgery. He assured me that beings I was being honest and I had never seen him before that it would be fine. Never had a dirty test my whole life and 2 days later he called and said beings there was thc in the sample he could not see me anymore except for more injections that my surgeon told him I was to receive any more. That being said I was ok with all that, the thing I am furious about is the fact that when I applied for ssd he made sure to include that in his report and his impression that beings I was not allowed to receive any injections that I was a drug seeker. He had not been my… doctor for almost 2 years before my hearing and my new doc and I have been working with no pain meds whatsoever by my choice alone. I was denied and the judge listed the reason as his report even though I saw the man one time and all my other UPMC doctors listed me as disabled. Beware of this doctor

This is the worst Dr. that i've ever encountered.. I went there for an epidural shot, and he took all day to come into the room,and when he did, he shot the injection into my back so hard that i screamed out in excruciating pain, he did this twice, and afterwards, he and his staff laughed about it, when i called their so called Patient Relations, they were on the Dr's side and told any witnesses to keep hush about it.. I also told my PCP and she documented it, when he saw this, he called her up and bit her heads off about it, not because he didn't do it, but because he thought thatt he might be in serious trouble, which he should have been. Please be leery of this Dr. he's not right.

I can not give a review because my appointment was rescheduled . Now I got lost in the hospital and was 15 minutes late . The receptionist told me I was 30 minutes late . That is their policy and I must reschedule . They would not tell me how late the doctor was running but the waiting room was full . I, not understanding why I was being turned away. Asked if she would ask the doctor if he would see me . She said she would but the doctor wants to leave early . The PA came out and said that I had to reschedule because the doctor wanted to leave early . My next appointment was 6 days later .

Horrible pain management doctor at upmc. No bedside manner, and he is not friendly with people that are on the autism spectrum disorders.

Arrogant little midget with a big coat. Doesn't actually assess the situation himself. Just reads the notes from the surgeon, and like a little dog, follows his master. Scheduled me a month apart and was supposed to be 3 weeks (he was going on vacation) and now I'm a week short on my medication and I can't get a refill. So now I get to miss a week of work because of incompetence. Upmc is a facility that is trying to get people cut open, medicated, and then regardless of surgical success or failure, thrown out so they don't waste there time. It's a an embarrassing facility so please find help elsewhere.
