When my primary care doctor diagnosed me with a hernia he recommended Dr. Hamby's group. Since Dr. Hamby's office was in the same building, I went up to schedule an appointment and fill out the necessary paperwork. The office staff was courteous and Dr. Hamby was able to see me immediately. Dr. Hamby was pleasant and very easy to talk to. He did a thorough examination and consulted with my primary care doctor to confirm the diagnosis. Dr. Hamby took ample time to explain my condition, surgical options and his recommendations. He answered all my questions thoroughly and in terms I could understand. I scheduled my surgery for the following week. Dr. Hamby met with me right before surgery to explain the procedure and answer any final questions I had. He was very pleasant and comforting, which helped ease my anxiety. Surgery went great and I am feeling better than I expected. I just had my post-op followup. The experience was good. The office staff was courteous, and the wait… time was acceptable. Dr. Hamdy examined me and again thoroughly answered any questions I had. I am very pleased with my experience/outcome and I would definitely recommend Dr. Hamby.

I saw Dr.Hamby four years ago due to a leg injury. At first I liked him. I had never had any surgery or a serious medical issue so I was anxious and wasn't sure what to expect. During one follow up visit he once kept me waiting for an hour while I listened to him talk on the phone in what seemed to me a personal and casual conversation. But here's the awful part that I still can't forget: When I mildly objected to getting drains put in my leg, ( I was concerned about scarring which did occur), he started yelling at me. Have you ever been yelled at by a physician? In addition, one of his nurses was also rude. My advice is that if you are considering elective surgery-where you have a choice-choose a different doctor. I felt I was treated with contempt for a reason I still don't understand. Don't let this happen to you.

Dr. Hamby has a leeetle problem with time management but other than that he is a most excellent doctor and surgeon. He is personable, more than willing to answer questions, explains things clearly and made dealing with a mastectomy alot easier than it otherwise would have been. His staff is super.

I waited over and hour during my follow up for hernia surgery, and he spent 3 minutes in the room with me, didn't ask if I had any questions and was wlking out the door as I was trying to determine when I could start going back to my normal routine. He then managed to lose my paperwork that he was to fill out for my work disability.This was a Mon Morning, by Wed I gave up and faxed a new copy to his office. By Friday afternoon I was told by his office that the paperwork had been filled out, but the girl who handled it was gone until Monday and everyone else was too busy to spend 30 seconds faxing my paperwork in so that my claim could be processed and I could start to be payed( my surgery was almost 2 weeks ago at this point)
