competent clinically but judgment and behavior personally which is suspect

I have been a patient for 4 years and have an unusual set of diagnoses. Dr H is always careful & even innovative in helping manage my migraines safely without risking complications. Further his evaluation of nerve damage due to non-neurological conditions has been excellent. He treats the whole patient while respecting his colleagues to handle their aspects.. All that said he has old fashioned practice without the glam & glitz. The decor simply reflects his personality. A quite brilliant man who has had same staff for long time so clearly there is loyalty & mutual respect.

Dr. Hamjian has treated both of my in-laws for several decades (they are now in their mid 80s) and he has been both incredibly dedicated to their well-being and skillful in his care. On a recent visit, my mother-in-law had been having a tough time and she lit up with happiness when she saw the receptionist and Dr. Hamjian. He spends real time getting to understand their situations, is very knowledgeable about the pure medical dimension of care, and is creative about changing their living environment in ways that might improve their enjoyment of life.

At first he may be intimidating but he is extremely smart and knows his stuff. His office is extremely interesting as you feel like you've entered a museum or time capsule . He'll work with other doctors you have and take the time to discuss your case.

This practice is an excellent example of what is wrong with the American medical system. My appointment was double booked, as I suspect are all appointments they make, meaning that the working single mother misses a day if work, and her son missed a day of school and didn't get to see a doctor, lest Hamjian run the rusk of losing his fees for an appointment that's not double booked. He urged me to switch to a brand name from the generic, had me take unnecessary blood tests, further indication of the unethical, money grubbing way he runs his practice. He was in the other room threatening to withhold someone's medical records over a workman's comp claim for the majority of my visit. The office was filthy and disorganized, and there was a flea infested dog in the reception area, biting large bare patches on his haunches. All in all, I'd say avoid this practice at all cost if not for qualms about the moral terpitude, then simply to avoid getting scabies from the disgusting office.

Excellent the whole office is wonderful

Rude and abusive to staff, patients, and vendors. Suffers badly from Little Man Complex. Keeps a wretched little dog in the office (I love dogs, but this one is nasty - perfectly reflects it's owner's attributes). Stay far, far away. I wanted to give him a zero star rating, but the site made me give him at least one. One star is way more than he deserves.

I have never been treated the way the Dr. Hamjian and his staff has treated me. Stay far away from them, they are extremely rude including Dr. Hamjian. At one point in a conversation I was having with his secretary you could hear him in the background when asked if I could speak directly to him he got on the phone and proceeded to tell me off and then hung up on me. Totally on Profession!! Run as fast as you can to another doctor.

I have been a patient for several years. several times I was hospitalized and found that Dr Hamjian was ALWAYS available and consulting with other docs about my care. He was the ONLY one concerned with new drugs and how they would react to my auto immune condition. You should always want a smart doctor not just one with a nice office.
