Dr. John F Harb, MD

I had a distressing experience at this office. During my visit, the provider suggested documenting symptoms differently than I described them for insurance purposes. Regarding the physical exam, I was not offered a chaperone for an invasive procedure. Despite my verbalizing significant pain and a history of physical trauma, the exam continued with a level of force that I found unprofessional. Communication during the visit included comments I found highly inappropriate for a medical setting. Additionally, the treatment plan suggested did not appear to account for my current medication list, posing a risk of contraindication. I am sharing this so other patients can prioritize their comfort and safety.

Amazing, Dr Harb actually came out to the waiting room to greet us. First impressions are lasting impressions. 100% great doctor. I have never met a doctor that showed the caring, concern, and interest in a patient as this doctor did. I don't usually rave about doctors due to past experiences starting at the age of 3 spending 30 days in Childrens Hospital, Downtown Detroit at a time when parents weren't allowed to stay with their children, same thing happened at the age of 6 and age 9, doctors offices were never my favorite place to go. Dr Harb is amazing, takes his time, explains everything, is thorough from start to finish. This was a first visit and we have to wait for results from blood work before moving forward, but from my first experience with this doctor, we will be returning. I would highly recommend Dr Harb for anyone needing a Urologist.

Dr. Harb is one great Urologist. I had some bladder issues and he was able to correct the problem with an Interstem Implant. This was about 10 years ago and it has given me much relief regarding my issues.

Dr. Harb was excellent in retrieving my boulder of a kidney stone. Very professional and would highly recommend .

I had a lithotripsy on my right side with an 8 millimeter Stone that was crushed properly and he put in a stent pulled it out later and everything was fine. He recommended getting the left side done also which had a 10 mm Stone. He started acting more unusual as time went on. But I scheduled the procedure for the left side, after the schedule was solidified he said he could not get me in, then a couple hours later he calls and says I can get in if I show up within 2 hours. Then I get to the hospital and he tells me that this was an elective procedure which made me feel kind of uncomfortable because he recommended it almost as if it was my fault for proceeding. He did the lithotripsy and afterwards said that it was crushed to dust. He did not put a stent in and a few days later I was rushed to another hospital emergency room for extreme pain. The doctor said, "we found it" .The kidney stone was not crushed, it was broken into several large pieces and one got stuck in my ureter and… caused an infection. So he lied about it being crushed like dust. The other hospital I went to said he didn't do what he was supposed to do with the lithotripsy. First of all on the screen he could see if it was crushed or not and there were apparently a few large 3 to 4 mm pieces rather than sand grains like they usually are so they can make you their way out of your ureter. It's easily recognizable the small particles compared to the big chunks because the color is different on the screen he watches. So I had to go on antibiotics to clear up the infection he caused. I went back to St Marys I was on IV antibiotics and he said he would wait a couple days until the infection cleared out before he put a stent in, but the very next day he put a stent in with the infection still in there which is dangerous. He did a scope to get the one out of the ureter and I asked him to get the remaining ones out. After the procedure he said he left a 3 millimeter piece in there (why no explanation?). That piece was the same size as the one that just got stuck. He could have taken it out but he didn't. That was two procedures. So he put a stent in and that piece cannot go through the stent because it's too big so if they take the stent out that remaining piece will get stuck again and get infected. I have to go back in now to have a third procedure to fix what he did not do properly and again get is scoped. It's a very serious situation when you cannot trust a doctor with your kidneys. I know he is a capable doctor when he wants to be, and he can do good work, so I don't know if the situation was political or what but he did harm me and other doctors even said so.

I was in st.mary hospital with my mom who was having issues with her catheter which caused her to go into septic shock. She survived but this doctor came in to look it over and change it. He asked me questions but I didn’t know the answers to because I’m not super close to my mom and was not raised by her and the catheter happened when I was busy with collage so I was a bit in the dark. When I told him I didn’t know much cause I was in college when the decision to put it in was made and told him my aunt knew much more. He asked what I studied I told him communication. He ask what job I had I told him retail and freelance work on the internet. He said maybe I should get a real job and then proceeded to criticize the decision to put a catheter on my mom. It was very rude and mean. It was clear he was judgeing my mother and me which was awful and upsetting since she had almost die the day before. I may not be close but I was still upset and don’t want my mom to die. He added … unnecessary stress to us. I found him to be very rude and he often spoke down to me and the nurses in the room. I hope he learns a better bedside manner and he should remember he may be a doctor but he depends on services in retail, farms, nurses, and others to help him succeed too. It would be very hard to doctor if he had to produce everything himself from scratch and still doctor. As my grandpa says he was too big for his britches and forgot how to care and listen.

He is very personal, understanding and kind He gives you material to help you I strongly recommend him

Walks away while patient is talking mid sentence, doesn't listen to what you have to say in regards to symptoms, interrupts and is super rude, I seen him at the Midwest clinic and the front desk girls were nice he was terrible

I always like Dr harb talking to him as easy and him explaining stuff was very easy he's a real good doctor but he did upset me very much when he told me one time that I shouldn't be in pain and I was and then he tells me that there's people in worse pain than me and I told him yes there is and I hate to be in their shoes because the pain that I'm having is bad enough and I won't see him again after that
