Dr. John Matthew Hardin, MD

I hate to write unpleasant reviews of doctors because of the negative energy. However, I think have an obligation to warn people about the doctors that I have experienced. My GP recommended a dermatologist. I have had the dermatologist for just over a year. Initially, he scared me with the thought that I might have toe cancer due to a discoloration in my nail. He did a biopsy (which I paid for) of the nail and it came back negative for fungus. So, I had to have a minor surgical procedure to get a sample of the tissue under my nail. The tissue came back positive for fungus (but I had to pay for the surgical procedure). Mistakes happen. I get it. I paid for it. Then, during the pandemic, I had a severe skin breakout. Doctor did an allergy patch test and I was charged two times for "co-payments" in the same week. Mind you, my insurance paid 100% of this procedure, so it was Dr. Hardin who charged the two "medical exams" during this week. One would have been… appropriate because I had to have the patches put on, patches taken off, and patches read. And there was only ONE "medical examination" at the end of the test. Not only did he misread and misdiagnose my condition (I have since changed doctors and my condition has improved because she did the proper testing, diagnosed it correctly, and provided the proper meds for the price of $10), but he wanted to put me on a life-long medication that is very expensive. VERY expensive. Let that sink in. IF I took his advice, I would be on a life-long med that would cost me lots of money. The allergy patch test was a waste of time because he either did not know how to read it or perhaps because he may be a proponent of high cost pharmaceuticals. I could go on. My perception is that this doctor is out to make money, and that he doesn't truly "work" to find out underlying causes. He did not listen, he did not try to find the cause of the issue, and he leaned toward more expensive alternatives. My advice: STAY AWAY from Dr. Hardin. You will not get the treatment you deserve, and you will pay.

Dr Hardin is professional, personable, knowledgeable and thorough. I highly recommend him

He was very thorough, when my son was between 5-7 years old he helped my son who was diagnosed with Alapecia. We started off with cream for his head and it healed in a month! I didn't go back for follow up because his hair grew back. My son was so happy. I am going to back because he is now 9 years old. And the bald spot has come back. Last month, I thought it was when he fell and hit his head, his head skidded on the pavement. But it has gotten bigger, about almost the size of ping pong ball. I hope he is still there I hate meeting great doctors and going back and they are not there.

Dr. Hardin addressed all of my questions and made me feel at ease with a difficult situation. He not only talked with me about my problem but how my family could help in getting me better. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a dermatologist!
