Dr. John Douglas Hoffman, MD

He did a phenomenal job for my knee replacement! Totally satisfied!

Written by a patient of 36 yrs: Dr Hoffman is kind, patient, respectful, very caring and always explains his diagnosis. He takes time with you and treats you like a human being instead of just rushing you on through. He makes you feel very comfortable when doing his exams. His diagnosis is always accurate and you can trust that he will do everything within his power to help you. He will call you and check on you himself. One of the kindest doctors I've ever known.

Written by a 37 year old mother. I have never EVER met a better doctor. After a YEAR of suffering through a misdiagnosis (yeast infection) and one drastic "cure" after another at the hands of my former HMO gyno, Dr. Hoffman diagnosed me with a tampon allergy after a simple culture and some detective work. He has such a sweet, patient, calm bedside manner. He has never EVER acted rushed (surprising since he somehow manages to stay on schedule). He always shakes my hand, looks me in the eye, smiles, and is personable. He asks me questions and and looks me in the eye when he actually lets me talk. Once he even shared that a particular thing works for his own wife (how many doctors would do that?). Once he even called me PERSONALLY to check on my progress when I didn't return his secretary's call. He writes out my doctor's instructions on a piece of paper so I don't forget. He takes the time to figure out a medicine that is both effective yet affordable. His staff is always prompt, very… polite, and good at their jobs (I can't say the same for Cooper Clinic dermatology.) The one time I had to wait, the secretary let me know ASAP and was very apologetic. And not that this matters, but Dr. Hoffman is a nice-looking older man. That's kinda nice for a change--most older male doctors in Fort Smith are fat and pompous.
