Dr. John D Hollingsworth JR., MD

Iv been a patient at the medical center 3 years when my doctor left leaveing me to see Dr Hollingsworth. I was disabled a year ago put on a patient care plane signed by my doctor when he came and completed a change without even notifying me on my visit. This change that could had caused me to be kicked out of my mental health treatment care and loss of insurance because he seen me two times and changed my whole medical care by Takeing away physical therapy, several skedualed neurologist appointments for my breathing issues to check lungs I’m on a breathing machine at least once a day. I’m on four inhalers the fact that any doctor would change your whole primary care around with only two visits showed me right away the kind of care he gives this is a treatmeant plane that iv stuck to for three years now. It is not professional what so ever to rip people from getting treatmeant exspecially such things as threpy and groups that referrals were written to my insurance company as patient… care needed. I’m unable to take a number of medications. I deal with chronic pain, I’m on seven medications consisting of blood pressure thyroid allergy meds to help breath inhalers breathing machine ordered by my three year doctor one medicine bein physicaly addictive pretizone for two years a muscle relaxer a anti depressant sodium pill I have to have antibiotics twice a year from low immune deficiency I have days wear I can’t walk I have days my ankles are so big I can’t put shoes on I’m up days at a time with flares. I have ptsd since the age of five from sexual abuse and physical anxiety dizzyness poor blood flow in my feet I do exercise and eat right take care of myself and follow through with treatment. But bein denied treatment is not at all patient doctor care. I seen my doctor three years where many assessments and test were done we came to a agreement together was I happy about being limited no I was not but I had to learn how to live all over and learn my body all over and what works and what doesn’t and iv never known a doctor to take away sealed referrals for therapy and treatment so I can live the best I can. This is truely sad and the problem on the eastern shore doctors like this should not be allowed to take medical treatment from anyone no matter what their personal belief is I have a right to access treatment of any kind. How can a two 15 min visit can access that decision where he didn’t seem to care what was in place allready and I’m done with bein pushed around by these medical centers alone they are not helpful my daughter has suffered with ezama a few years where I was told a they didn’t know what it was. Iv seen many of these nurse practitioners and doctors none of them treat my main condition the start with what we really need is a whole new line of medical providers that actually like what they do. Please be aware that as long as he agrees with the treatment you may have it but clearly this guy has some issues with therapy and chronic pain issues weather he is the provider or not he seems to have a Vendetta to not allow the process to access the treatmeant the only way some of us can. Due to my imasapation at 16 I was placed on disability I got a little older and tryed to fight my learning disabilities by returning to school and I tryed holding many jobs to only be fired from a two day flare weather you call exsplain their is no job security. Theirs no way after the last 8 years of fighting and trying. I’m thankful to have another avenue but how many others that don’t have any where to turn but these guys who clearly isn’t I’n the best interest of you but the best interest in their own feelings. Be aware this guy will only listen as far as he can agree and not what’s best for you and what’s the issue with denying such therapy’s I’m really beside myself with medical care I hope they all have a great year and lots of luck to you I have discharded my whole family and moved on. By the way this is the first review I have ever written on anyone.

Just an excellent doctor

i have seen Dr. Hollingsworth for many years. He is caring and listens carefully to what you are conveying to him. I find him easy to talk with, friendly, compationent, and has a wonderful bedside manner. I would be devistated if I had to find a new doctor.

He cares about people.

My husband and I have been a patient of Dr. H. for many years. Dr. H. has ALWAYS been compassionate, thorough, and a total professional. He listens carefully to you, prescribes treatment, prescriptions, or suggests a referral to a specialist, if needed. His caseload, I presume, is substantial which I contribute to his excellent bedside manner and his medical knowledge. He is the epitome of an excellent doctor! Sometimes making an appointment for a minor ailment can be challenging - there again probably because of his popularity!

I am so happy you are my physician. You have taken so much time with me, especially with all the medical problems I have presented you with. I never feel rushed, you spend much time with me every visit and I am proud to be one of your patients. You have the uncanny ability to make patients feel like they are the only one on the schedule and spend as much time as needed to allay fears and explain all that needs to be. Dr. Hollinsworth is what I call a true and born Doctor. He is right where he needs to be and patients are better off for it. Thank you for all the wonderful care you have given me and my children for the past 20 some years.

Dr. Hollingsworth is the absolute best!

I've been seeing Dr. Hollingsworth since I was a teenager (in my 30s now). He is the most caring doctor. When you are in with him, it's as if you are the only patient he has. I do wish his office staff was more polite and understanding, but that should not reflect on him as a doctor.

It pains me to write this. Dr. H had been our family doctor for 15+ years. He was friendly, warm, and funny. It was like going to see an old friend, not a doctor. But, he has changed. His office is run more like a business than a doctor's office. After a disagreement with his office manager, I received a letter from him stating that I must find another doctor to tend to my health needs. I am a senior citizen who has had cancer three times, and I also have heart disease. I was totally shocked and extremely hurt. This was the first time I ever had problems with the office staff and it wasn't anything that warranted him writing this letter. The only thing I can think of is the office manager exaggerated the disagreement. When I received the letter, my husband called and left a message for him to return the call. He NEVER did. He did not respond to a letter I wrote. My son left a message, and he had his office manager call. She told him he did not want to become involved with… this situation. Well, he is involved...he is the one who dismissed me and never gave a reason. He never gave me the courtesy of discussing the problem I had with the staff. How unprofessional and cold. My whole family started with him when it was just him, one nurse, and one receptionist. I guess what I am trying to say is BEWARE....he is not what he seems. No matter how long he has been your doctor, or how concerned he may seem over your health, he can get rid of you in a blink of an eye and not tell you why. He has handled my husband's disability for approximately 10 years and now my husband must find another doctor also. DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN.

Always available for appointments; concerned; excellent follow-up. Quick to diagnose and refer specialist, as well as maintain follow-up on care. Highly recommend this physician.
