Dr. John W. Homer

I have been a long time patient of this practice. Dr. Homer is very personable, professional and pleasant. He always spends more time than necessary with me. His staff is very pleasant and accommodating and goes above and beyond when ever I have an issue or need their help. I highly recommend this practice to anyone with GI issues

I recently switched from Dr.Fedi office due to nobody ever returning my calls. I must tell you I was skeptical.. but I got in on a cancellation very quick!! The pleasant lady that greeted me was soo nice and helpful! We did all the new patient paperwork electronically and she explained everything very thorough . I then took a seat and waited for the nurse. The waiting room is equipped with cable tv and water!! I was only in the waiting room a short time and the nurse came to get me. She was very sweet and handled me being hesitant on getting on the scales great! She held my coat and made me feel good about my self. We went into a very clean update room where she then took my blood pressure and went over my previous care at Dr. Fedi office. We finished up and as she exited Dr. Homer came in! He is a bright ray of sunshine! He greeted me with a relaxed professional manor! He was so interested in my health care! After talking about options and ideas , we both agreed a procedure would be… the best option to rule out many things that Dr.Fedi didnt. I was then brought to a nurse to be scheduled for my procedure. She was very sweet and charming. I was petrified to have a procedure and she assured me that it would be pain free and assured me that I had nothing to worry about. After I was scheduled I then stopped to meet with a gal regarding what my insurance covered! Her name is Jess in billing!1 She was so informative! we sat down and called my insurance and went over everything!! I then went and checked out ! my overal experience was great! Highly recommend them!!

I just returned home from what was supposed to be a follow up appointment just to get a prescription refilled. I had an appointment last week that I had to cancel because of a snow storm and when I called to reschedule it I was threatened that if I canceled this new appointment I will never get another one. I drove from Saranac Inn to Plattsburg in terrible driving conditions and a snow storm. It took an hour and forty five min. to make the trip. Upon arrival I gave the girl at the window my insurance card. She promptly told me that they don't take my insurance. I asked why that wasn't checked on before the appointment was made, but they didn't want to admit that they should have done that. I read the first five reviews and four out of five were about the rude staff that Dr. Homer hires. This review is a ditto to all those other reviews that say the staff doesn't do there job and are some of the rudest people I have ever met. I did raise my voice a bit and asked why my insurance… wasn't checked on before I drove almost two hours for an appointment. I was told I could either stop being rude or LEAVE. The three women that work in the front office hate life. I think that Dr. Homer and his staff should have a meeting and read all of the reviews because that office has a huge problem and it is not just one rouge review or one persons opinion. It's across the board. I can't agree more with the review that says if Dr. Homer hires this kind of help and after so many reviews that complain about the rude help and nothing has been done about it, makes you wonder about Dr. Homers better judgement! Dr. Homer is an amazing doctor with a wonderful bedside manner who really cares about his patients. His staff is another story. Most of them are rude and there is a certain somebody who can't be pleasant to save her life and barely does her job. I've been hung up on, been without important medication.and the list goes on. But seeing Dr. Homer always brightens my day!

I am a patient of Dr Homer and anytime I had a problem they always took care of me ,even after a script was written they always call and asked how I am doing sometimes weeks after.Very qualified and caring Dr

Although Dr.Homer seems ok. His staff is soooo unprofessional. Rude. No call back. Take no responsibility for their errors. If they are so unhappy wIth the job maybe the should look elsewhere

Have two serious problems. Always behind, dismissive, no follow up. Still in pain after a year. Staff is beyond rude and the most unprofessional bunch of employees. Lived many places, but never encountered anything like this. Trusting a Dr. that hires people like this is difficult.

Unprofessional. Rude staff. Didn’t help. Only caused two more (painful) problems. When I was asked why I didn’t want to call or go back? Simple I’m Afraid.
