Dr. John Fred Hornick, MD

Unless you're seeing Dr Hornick for basic issues, I would suggest looking for a different doctor. he was the dr on call recently when I called for a very serious reason, and he only went down the list of questions he was supposed to ask without any interest on my take as far as what I thought was going on. He was clearly irritated. I was trying to tell him my husband's oxygen level was particularly low in light of his previous reading, and Dr Hornick dismissed me as though I didn't know what I was talking about. Acted like I was stupid, said, "I mean, you can take him to the ER if you want to. I'm not gonna stop you." I Tried to explain my husband had a low fever and twice he said "doesn't count." In the end it counted very much. After we hung up he called me back and said after looking at my husband's chart, I should take him to the ER because of his previous oxygen reading. I was scared, i needed to know what to do, and he was awful. Also, years ago, my son was in the hospital… and Dr Hornick was on call. he prescribed a med in my son's IV - when I saw it on his chart I was alarmed because I knew it wasn't a good idea. I went to find the nurse, and when I told her, she said she had been concerned too and didn't give it to him.

A thorough and well networked family physician. Knowledgeable with an interactive bedside manner.

Dr. Hornick was unable to provide any assistance, he didn't know what negative blood results meant, he told me that I was only allotted 5 minutes per appointment and one question. At one point he yelled at me because I asked one too many questions and was wasting his time. I left feeling worthless and that no-one cared about helping to treat me. Doctors are suppose to be someone who you can trust and assist you in the time of medical needs, Dr. Hornick is not that person. He also makes assumptions on problems without even examining me (because that may take too much time) While they may offer walk-in service, this is even worse service then if you had an appointment.
