Dr. John Hunter was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University, where he graduated with honors, then went on to complete his DDS degree at the Georgetown University School of Dentistry, again graduating with honors. During dental school, he had the privilege of representing Georgetown University at the 1989 American Dental National Convention in Hawaii.
Dr. Hunter entered private practice in 1990 and developed his philosophy of conservative, comprehensive dentistry. By incorprating periodontics (gum therapy), orthodontics (braces) and cosmetic dentistry (metal-free fillings, crowns and veneers) into his general practice, Dr. Hunter helps his patients enjoy a lifetime of healthy, beautiful smiles. He has had a board certified orthodontist and oral surgeon on staff since 1999, enabling his patients to receive the specialized treatment they need without having to visit …numerous offices. He believes that this "team approach" not only results in better care and communication, but also creates a more relaxed and convenient patient experience.
Dr. Hunter's practice philosophy combined with over a thousand hours of continuing education ensures that all of his patients receive the finest and most up-to-date dental treatment available.
Dr. Hunter and his wife Lisa are raising four children, and the experience has given him a special rapport with young patients. Working with children is the most rewarding aspect of both his personal and professional life. When he's not practicing dentistry, Dr. Hunter enjoys physical fitness, traveling and spending quality time with his family. He is fluent in Spanish and Italian.
