Dr. John Patrick Hutton, MD

He seems "friendly," but really isn't. He misdiagnosed me too. Claimed I was "bipolar" when really I was just depressed.

Unlike many, John takes the time to listen; I don't think he wants to hear a litany of who did what to whom (that's for the therapist) but he does want to understand your symptoms and relatively what major events are occurring in your life. He does not, I think, want to hear you blame someone else for how you feel - that is stuff for a therapist. - he knows more about psychotropic meds and treatments than any Psychiatrist I have known. Whenever I have needed he has been there for me as far as his time allows. I have known him for years and he is consistently compassionate, wise, and inquiring which is what I expect from a psychaitrist.

Great doctor, knows what he's doing, listens when I tell him of past medication has worked.

Stop seeing my child because I had to cancel one app and when I called to reschedule was told he no longer takes new patients with my insurance. But he is not new hes been there for year, but if you cancel an app they are considerate no longer a patient. So my child had to go completely off his medicine and had no one to write it out for him and in a new high school this was bad, they did not care they would not treat him or help point me in a direction to find someone else.

2 family members see Dr. Hutton. Both have been treated by other psychiatrists, but Dr. Hutton has really helped, when the others did not. He seems to have a genuine concern about his pts, and is available at times other than appointments. Unlike previous MDs, he is always responsve to his pts needs. We will always be grateful to Dr. Hutton and Alicia for their concern and attentiveness. Because of them, our lives are much better!

Dr. Hutton is great at understanding the process of medications and how they can be manipulated to help patients. I have never had a doctor who seemed so knowledgeable in this regards. However, Dr. Hutton and his aid Alicia, often discussed other patient, by name, with me, which is a total violation of HIPPA guidelines. I often heard other patients' diagnosis, medications, and general problems. Also, in the two years I saw him on a montly basis, I never waited less than an hour for my scheduled appointment; an hour and a half was the usual wait time. The office staff wasn't very helpful and requests for medical records took a very long time to address.
