Dr. Phil James

Phil James is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 16 years of experience assisting clients who are struggling with substance abuse, mood disorders, family conflict, unresolved trauma, unresolved grief, and self-identification issues. His desire is to help you attain and process the hopes, dreams, and unmet expectations that may have contributed to your need for therapeutic assistance. Phil received his Doctorate in Philosophy from Capella University. He believes that all issues are addressable, and uses a broad spectrum of approaches to assist clients, including emotionally-focused methods, experiential therapy, rational emotive behavior (REBT), feminist methods, humanistic, and Rogerian approaches. As an experienced therapist, he knows that therapy should be custom designed to fit each particular client and that a client is not a diagnosis, or "problem".
