Dr. John Dee Johnson, MD

I have only seen Dr Johnson once, but I was very pleased with my visit and chose to schedule surgery with him. He instilled confidence for me that my surgery was going to be done with care and foresight. I am a complicated patient, and he is preparing for those other conditions that could complicate my surgery, and that is the most thorough that anyone I has ever been with me. I don’t think he even knows how much I appreciate that, seeing me as an individual and not as just another routine back surgery. I know that the surgery is not without risk and isn’t guaranteed to resolve my back and leg pain, but I am willing to take the chance with Dr Johnson and Dr Randall. So, just based on my current experience, I would highly recommend him, and I have heard so many positive comments about him from other patients, even since seeing him, that have been even more reassuring.

Like most the other reviews , I found the wait time unacceptable like they value their time, but not yours. The explanation of your issue is rushed and I think that is very unprofessional. Even though patients may not be physicians, our time is as valuable as theirs is to them. Holier than thou is a good expression in describing this practice.

Short with explanations. Rude. Still having significant problems.

Dr. Johnson worked me into his schedule the day my MRI showed a herniated disc. And surgery was promptly scheduled as soin as I got my preliminaries completed. He explained my problem and answered all questions. And my excruciating pain was relieved when I woke up in recovery. I am forever thankful for his expertise!

This physician is as professional as you can hope for. He speaks in layman terms so we can easily understand what is going on. He is personable, which is not that common with physicians of his status and expertise, and his staff is as friendly, patient, and supportive as any I have witnessed. Dr. Johnson truly earns his reputation as one of the best in his field.

Dr. Johnson did surgery on my back and I could not be happier with the results. I am improving daily and am progressing nicely. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

I was going to one the top Drs. in Huntsville and got NO help. Then I was referred to Dr. Johnson he did my back surgery because my left leg was completely numb now just about all the feeling in my leg is back. He is a great Dr.

I saw Johnson on 8/817. I was referred by my family physician on the basis of X-ray findings. My appointment was actually with his nurse practitioner. After waiting for about an hour, I left the exam room (in a gown) and approached the desk, asking when I was going to be seen. I was told the nurse practitioner was on her way. Ten or fifteen minutes later, Dr. Johnson came in. I enquired about his nurse practitoner, and he replied that he was seeing me because I had a "hiissy-fit." That was an unprofessional thing to say. The consultation went down hill from there. He is obviously overworking his practitioner and underworking himself. Also, there was no medical justification for putting me in a gown because I was there for an evaluation of neck problems (cervical spine). I wonder if they put patients in gowns to discourage them from making enquiries after long waits (they either have to put themselves out there in a gown as I did, or get dressed first).

I feel he cares and is a wonderful surgeon., I just didn't get all the info I needed to make an informed decision. I am in a pain crisis and can't perform my job. I need more information.

Was still in pain after he released me 1 yr after surgery. Not sure if this was to make the surgery look successful.
