Dr. John Paul Kachoris, MD

I was seen by Dr. Kachoris in the emergency room for possible MS. This was my 2nd visit there with the same symptoms. My first experience was amazing. Dr. Valabuhni treated my symptoms and expressed concern over possible MS. She explained that even with a negative spinal tap, I could still have MS. I explained all my symptoms to her and she listened. She told me to return if I had a second "attack" of symptoms, so I did. This doctor came in for 3 minutes, would not let me speak and explain my symptoms and then told me he saw my images from my previous visit and didnt agree because I must have migraines and this couldn't be MS. I was never able to explain anything to him as he spoke over me and treated me as if I was completely incompetent. I left crying. I have had several "attacks" after my experience with him and have not gone back to the ER for fear of ending up with him as my ER/Neuro doctor. He is extremely rude, arrogant and dismissive. If you're looking for a caring provider… who will listen to you, PLEASE do NOT set up an appointment to see this doctor. I was able to find the original neurologist who saw me in the ER and am looking forward to my upcoming visit with her. This man is horrible.

He delivered the news to me in 2015 that my son was brain dead & that he had already signed his death certificate & that I should go straight to the organ donation people waiting in the hallway all in one breath with zero compassion & then walked straight out of the room. I can't print what I think of him here.

Did not appreciate his demeanor.

I saw this lousy excuse for a doctor today. He started off by yelling at me for being late, after I had explained and apologized to the staff that I was late because I was not feeling well. Next, he asked me about the history of some of my symptoms and I said I wasn’t sure, but I had pictures with me. I told him I had a bad memory and I could check, if he’d give me a minute... My husband came to this appointment with me, and I had asked the nurse to please send him back, but the staff never told my husband where I was... How convenient! So this guy could proceed to yell at me and make me feel awful? That is why I brought my husband, because I have a cognitive problem. I’ve had a major illness for six years btw and I’m having new symptoms. I was sent to this appointment by my PCP. Back to the drawing board! Please save yourself the abuse! Forget it with this guy, next! Horribly awful experience.

Seeing him was a total waste of time.

Dr Kachoris spent a lot of time with me, listening, answering questions, and explaining possible causes of my symptoms and various treatment options.

Mr. Kachoris sends me bills, but he didn't exam me nor ask me any health-related questions. When I read my medical chart, any useful information he reported about my condition came third-hand, through an intern. I wasn't helped. He did lie to me however to enforce continued, unnecessary, expensive testing (He said the first tests were flawed so I needed more. I got the truth from others later). He's pleasant. Outside of his job, I'm sure he's a nice guy.
