Dr. John Kalam, MD

Dr. Kalam spent nearly 2 hours with me on my first visit. We walk step-by-step of my past and current health conditions. He then put into action a care plan to help me improve my health. Since that first visit, things have only gotten better. His medical assistant is on top of things! She makes sure all your medications are ordered on time. She has worked with a home healthcare agency making sure that I'm receiving proper care. I can't speak highly enough of this dynamic duo!

Been in 4 times has never taken my temperature the wait time is usually an hour. Does not seem to have a lot of patience

I just moved to Jacksonville from South Carolina and have some on going health issues. Dr. Kalam was very interested in bringing my health status up to date in all areas. He ordered several tests to make sure I'm doing well. I liked him and walked out of his office smiling.

I love the doctor. He does spend a lot of time with his patients. However the downside to that is you sit and wait for your turn for a long time. He is very knowledgeable and capable and not a pill pusher which I like. The largest problem with his office is the follow up. It took several months for any referrals I was given by the doctor to be taken care of by the office. The staff is very nice, but if the patient doesn't take the initiative, it won't get done. Also he works 1 to 6 and is hard to make an appointment with for people who need early appointments.

Dr. Kalam always spends an adequate amount of time; is always thorough and seems to be genuinely concerned about our health and welfare. We think he is a really good, caring doctor. Not that easy to find these days!

Dr. Kalam is a decent enough physician but his office staff and the general operation is a nightmare. I generally get their answering service at least half the time when I call and I'm not sure if the service is bad or the office doesn't care but I have never had a call returned within a day when I left a message. Recently I chased a prescription refill for 3 weeks before they finally did what they were supposed to do. I guess I'm luck it wasn't heart medication.

I really like Dr. Kalam and his staff. Once in the exam room, he gives his undivided attention to the patient. He is VERY thorough and thoughtful. I took my 75 year old sister in law to see him and he was very kind to her. She loved him! If one has to wait a bit in the office, it is worth it once you get in the room. I feel very safe and comfortable there.

Dr Kalam seems to be competent if a little slow in working through your health issues. Staff is not good.

Although the wait time is long, once I see him, it is worth the wait. He will spend as much time with you as you want. You never feel rushed - which gives you time to ask questions.

Sometimes it is difficult to get an appointment and once you arrive you may experience a long wait. However, once Dr. Kalam receives you, he is all ears and focused on you. Dr. Kalam gives you his undivided attention and because of this, his diagnosis is on target. Dr. Kalam has an excellent bedside manner, is caring and my family and I completely recommend him.
