Dr. John Kavanaugh is a graduate of the St. Louis University School of Medicine. He completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery and is board certified in each specialty. Dr. Kavanaugh is recertified in the specialty of Orthopaedic Surgery. He was a full time member of the department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Kentucky from July 1976 until September 1979. Since that time he has been an active participant in orthopaedic graduate medical education at Albany Medical College.

Dr. Kavanaugh is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Irish American Orthopaedic Society. Dr. Kavanaugh served as the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at St. Peter's Hospital from January, 2001 through December, 2003.

Dr. Kavanaugh is a talented surgeon who is thorough, empathetic and talented w/all of his expertise while still being able to put the patient @ease w/his explanations of all procedures. He has operated on several of my family members w/a top rate of success. He's truly the best!!

I went to Dr Kavanaugh when my hip deteriorated, I needed a hip replacement, I had just started a new job and could not be out of work for a long time waiting for a hip replacement. Somehow he fit me in his schedule and I had a replacement in less than 2 weeks. He is very kind and gentle and personally called me back when ever I called with questions. I would recommend him to everyone!

have a tear because of my age its expected. disagree with his recommendations. felt uncomfortable barely shake my hand like he didn't want to touch it. Maybe because I was black. felt discriminated against age and color. never want to go back.

I was sent to this jerk by my primary doctor for a shoulder injury. He didn't spend more than 2 minutes with me. Simply told me he could not fix it without performing a physical exam and rudely walked out of the room. DIdn't order any imaging study such as a x-ray or MRI. Don't go to this incompetent jerk.

my husband had pain in his right arm and drKavanaugh injested the arm with cortisone and he has instant relisf with no futher problems
