Dr. John Woodruff Kessel

Dr.John Kessel saved my life! I had a tumor in my throat that a PA working in the building misdiagnosed as anxiety and his front desk person Julie saw me rapidly decling n weight and health so she got me back with him even though he was booked and he took one look at me and said Hi. I am Dr.Kessel and you have something sticking out of your neck and it’s pretty big. He ordered test which came back showing a solid tumor and it wasn’t a gorder. He sent me to a surgeon and upon additional x rays found two other tumors one in my pelvis one on my adrenal glad , all solid. I ended up in surgery and if it hadn’t of been for Dr. Kessel I wouldn’t be here right now and he also found two leaking heart valves. Dr. Kessle was one of the best doctors that I ever had. Yes, he got caught with pain pills, yes he pled guilty to selling them and yes, he was forced out of his own practice thanks to this new integrated healthcare system. You don’t find doctors like John Kessel and I would take him drug… sales n all over any of these other half a$$ physicians that are doing the samething but through insurance .Starting with Catawba Valley Medical Center who’s ER doctor claimed to have done things he didn’t do and I even have a witness to it and also from the same doctor who gave me a medication that caused me to have a seizure and I have no seizure disorder and it all showed up on the one type of X-ray he did take and he didn’t tell me anything about it I read it on the x ray report. I would take doctor Kessel any day over 99% of physicians in Hickory, NC.

I see that there are people that are very opinionated about Dr. John Kessel. I understand that he was caught with several pain pills but no one knows what it was for...everyone wants to jump to conclusions. Dr Kessel owns the Fairbrooke medical center and pharmacy. Who knows he may have been just transporting them for the pharmacy. Or he may have been prescribed them and they may not have been in the proper container. Dr. Kessel has cancer that is in remission and he has had several surgeries for his hip. He is definitely not in the best physical condition. I can tell everyone doubting him that he is the best doctor that I have ever had. Unfortunately I don't have insurance and no matter what he made sure that I was taken care of. I don't believe that he would ever do anything illegal because I have heard from his own mouth how serious pain pills are and that pain pills only cover the real issue. He always made sure that the root of the problems would be addressed and not just given… pills to cover up the symptoms. Dr.Kessel takes care of me and his other patients. He told me that he considers his patients to be like extend ed family. Don't listen to the stupid media! They just like to exaggerate situation s without even knowing the entire story!!!

Hard to trust a family doctor to treat your loved ones when his name pops up in the news for getting busted selling pain killers in a diner's parking log.

The staff is very unprofessional. Do not use this doctor.
