Dr. John Robert Lafrentz, MD

I called the emergency line after I had surgery earlier today because I was experience numbness in my arms and legs. I was told to call the emergency line by an emergency room before considering coming in. I called and doctor John R. LaFrentz called me back with a horrible attitude and quick smart responses. I tried to express to him that I was not seen by the doctor after surgery nor had anything explained by the nurses afterwards and was scared. He snapped at me saying “this is an emergency line you need to go to the emergency room to ask these questions” I tried to explain that they told me to call him and he kept snapping at me. Their business has officially lost me as a client and I will now make sure to review him so no one goes through this again. He obviously doesn’t care one bit about patients and is one of the doctors who is too good to concern himself with others. I would be more understanding if it was a late phone call but it wasn’t.

Listens and spends time answering questions. Treats his patients with excellence and care.

A requirement I have with all my doctors is that they listen to me. Dr. Lafrentz has always listened to me. I know myself better than anyone, and know what I'm talking about when it comes to my health.

Excellent doctor, performed septoplasty and adenoidectomy. The procedure went well and discomfort was minimal, the discomfort that is inherent with anesthesia was probably worse than the actual procedure. Highly recommended.

I wish all doctors' offices were like this one. Everyone is so knowledgeable and efficient. They treat you like a priority. They will go out of their way to answer any question or concern you may have. Dr. Lafrentz talked to me like I was a person. He made me feel very comfortable with the surgery process because he also talked to me like I didn't have a medical degree (which obviously, I don't). He put it in terms that were relatable and understandable, and he was very laidback

The Doctor and his nurse Kristen was great and trustworthy. Very disappointed with Ashley on his staff as she was EXTREMELY rude, disrepectful, lacked empathy, no customer service skills and just down right mean. I really enjoyed working with the Doctor and Kristen as she is a true angel but if he continues to keep Ashley he will lose patients due to her unprofessional and horrendous demeanor.

I have been to Dr. LaFrentz office several times in the past few months for recurrent sinus infections. The last appointment, Dr. Lafrentz did a sinus scan in the office and then asked to do a laryngoscopy. I have had this done at another ENT office prior to moving to Huntsville so I gave my consent. He spent approximately 2 minutes in the room doing the laryngoscopy (only going down one nostril and not even addressing my sore throat) and sent me home. The next week, I received a bill for $150 because the procedure was coded as an outpatient surgical procedure. Not to mention, my insurance company already paid them over $300 for the 30 minute visit. When I spoke with billing, they were very unwilling to make any type of readjustment. I will not be back to see Dr. Lafrentz and I will definitely not recommend him for this reason. I hate that physicians have become so money-hungry that they cheat patients with insurance and are unwilling to truly help them in times of need. What a shame.

I've struggled with sinus infections all my life. But moving to Huntsville, America nearly 4 years ago made a lifelong health problem worse. After a half-dozen trips to a local urgent care facility, where I was on a first name basis with everybody, a member of the personnel said, "Welcome to the 'Valley of Death'." Finally, my family doctor referred me to Dr. La Frentz. Very personable for a doctor... conveys a genuine interest. Quite professional, though. No question that he knows what he's doing. His staff, either on the telephone and in the office, is friendly, helpful, and professional.

Dr. Lafrentz is an awesome doctor. Went to him a few times for treatment.

My father went to Dr. Lafrentz for a year. He diagnosed him with Menieres Disease and told him there was nothing they could do for him and gave him water pills to take! So my dad got worse over another year and finally went for a second opinion to a doctor who actually treated him for his disease!!! There may be no cure but there are things that you can do. Also, I know of another person that went there for the same thing and was told the EXACT same prognosis...beware and do not go!!
