Dr. John Robins Langlow III, MD

Saw Dr. Langlow for several visits. He didn't seem very interested at follow-up visits, just kept changing medications with minimal interest in discussing my concerns. Minimal interest overall, really. I felt like more of a bother than a valued patient. Would answer messages on his Blackberry during our sessions. The last straw was when he answered a call regarding another patient IN THE ROOM with me and started discussing a serious matter with me present. The matter was pressing, but should NOT have been discussed in the presence of another patient and my session time shouldn't have been cut in half because of the call. My first visit to a new Doctor I was diagnosed with a secondary issue that allowed my treatment to become very productive. An issue that should have been caught by Dr. Langlow months before, but wasn't because of his lack of interest in discussing my history.

I saw Dr Langlow for about 8 years. He is a man of little words, he mainly listens, but will ask the right questions. He's incredibly intelligent and is honestly involved with getting his patients better. He is a very caring Dr. The only thing I wish different is the explanation of the long term effects or withdrawal effects of medication. He can be heavy handed on the prescription amounts, which for some people can be dangerous. Other than that, I really believe he was on concerned with getting me to a better place.

I went into his office not wanting to live and hating all Psychiatrist. He is a doctor that does sit, listen, take notes, quietly evaluates and does recognize symptoms which allow him to diagnosis depression. He made changes in medications and strongly recommended a therapist. In follow up appointments he asks questions that have been issues in my life he has in his medical notes which makes you see that he is a very caring doctor. I would not change to a different doctor when he changes offices. I chose to drive the extra distance. He has helped me greatly.

Charged $50 for a "no show" fee for an appointment I cancelled over the phone. Called three times to get matter resolved but they would not have a manager call me and would not correct. You better cancel or reschedule appointments in person and get a receipt!
