Dr. John Lynn Law, MD

I wish that I did not have to even give him a star. I was new to the area but one of my best, oldest friends. I had set up an appointment with "Dr. Law". The day of the appointment, I spoke with someone in his staff, she was extremely rude and hung up on me. I called back and this time I spoke with Dr. Law. He was ruder than his staff. Not only did he CURSE at me, but he also hung up the phone on me. Keep in mind that this at the onset of COVID. He probably does not remember me since I had not even become a patient yet (thank goodness). He does know my friend that referred him. I have also filed a complaint with the Medical Board of Tennessee. Avoid this "Doctor".

Doesn’t listen and can be rude and insensitive.

He wants you to keep coming in every few weeks so he can charge a visit. And, he will send you to all his friends so they can cash in on you too. All about the money. I will never go back to him again. All he does is want to do bloodwork and run texts that aren't even necessary, so he can pad his pocket.

Dr. Law is a very thorough physician. He seems to care about his patients and remembers you on your return visit. His staff is very pleasant.

As soon as Dr. Law saw me, he seemed to take an immediate dislike to me. Even though I'd lost 45 pounds so far, and even though I have always been slim except for the last couple of years, he told me that it was "impossible" for me to lose more weight (note: another doctor told me, "nothing is impossible"). Even if I managed to lose more weight, Dr. Law predicted, I would just "gain it back." I wanted to go back on a diet and exercise program, as I had been doing (Weight Watchers and the YMCA), and he discouraged me from doing so. To protect himself, he told me, he was going to prescribe drugs, and if I didn't take them, he was going to carefully notate that fact in my chart. (I assured him that I had no intention of suing him.) Avoid this self-serving, arrogant quack like the plague. You can certainly do better.

CARING...

Best doc I've visited since moving from Houston to Knoxville. Extremely thorough, geat bed-side manner, honest and direct. GREAT staff also!
