Dr. John Edward Leavens, MD

I had the misfortune to me this man in the ER of St. Francis hospital with my 96 year old mother who had been brought there for uncontrolled diarrhea as recommended by multiple nurses at her assisted living facility. He is arrogant and rude and clearly has no interest in non-traumatic patients. He checked off his blood work and scan and didn't seem to even want to consider any additional observations conditions that may have warranted further tests. Just kicked us back and told us that his focus is life and death ER situations and the rest is not his concern. I am a successful business person who was shocked by his behavior, so I cannot imagine how he treats other people who do not have advocates with them.

I waited 5 hours to see a social worker due to an anonymous phone call. I requested to see the doctor (Dr. Leavens) so he could give me some sort of insight and he brushed me off, until my 5th request. When we spoke he spoke to me in an overtly rude and uncalled for manner . He patronized me, my reason for being in the hospital, my age AND my race.

This “doctor” is the most arrogant, rude, selfish person I have ever met. He is awful to students who are just there to learn. He gives the word “arrogant it’s meaning” just wow. I’m in shock.
