Summary
Dr. Leitner was born and raised here in Grand Haven, MI. After finishing high school he attended MSU for two years. The opportunity to travel was too great for him, so he headed out to Montana via bicycle. While living in Montana for almost four years, he found a job working as a dental assistant for a short time, and then as a dental lab technician. It was during this time that he found he had a strong desire to go into dentistry itself. He received an excellent practical lab education, which is still useful on a daily basis today. He received his D.D.S. from University of Michigan in 1982. Following his degree he worked in several different settings to gather knowledge and skills. He owned a practice in Pennsylvania for five years before coming back home to take over his father’s practice in Grand Haven, MI. With all these different learning situations, he feels he has something unique and positive to offer the community. In today’s world Dr. Leitner feels it is important to …keep a personable office atmosphere, but offer services based on current techniques and technical advancements. His office was the first to embrace surgical microscopes and TekScan occlusal analysis in Western Michigan, and one of the first to offer complete digital records, and Periolase laser treatments. The world is constantly changing and advancing, and he believes continuing education combined with flexibility is important in offering excellent care for his patients. Dr. Leitner has lived in Grand Haven again since 1990. His wife and two children enjoy keeping him busy with skiing, boating and "kid-stuff!"
