Dr. John Edward Liljestrand, MD

Dr.Liljestrand never showed much interest or concern for his patients. He was a "no touch" doctor who did the minimal and was on his computer most of the time during visits. He moved away from New Mexico with no notice to his patients, and they were left with no doctor for many months, not able to fill prescriptions and having to go to urgent care for treatment.

Dr. Lijestrand is a pill pusher who continues to add prescriptions to my fathers record. I stopped going to him when I was 20 seventeen years ago because he place me on Ativan, opioids, and other depression medication. After seeking second opinion, I am not on any of these meds. Once I step in for my elderly father, Doctor took my dad off of opioids and anti anxiety meds. Why did it take me talking to him to make that happen? My father had repeated falls before taking him off this medication. Not a single fall since. And why would he now have a scribe in the office every time since? I can not recommend.

I've been a patient of Dr. Liljestrand for over 20 years and have never had a bad visit. He's always courteous and not rushed, he will take time to answer questions. I cannot recommend him more highly!

I have been with Dr. Liljestrand for many years and have experienced the same thing posted by a patient on May 10. He is likable and I always thought he was caring until the past few years. The time he spends with each patient is drastically reduced and he doesn't seem to pay attention. This results in follow-up visits where he doesn't remember problems reported at previous visits. It seems to be at the point that he doesn't have time to diagnose the out-of-the-ordinary problems and yet doesn't refer you to someone who will. I am sorry to report this because he was not like this in previous years. I think some of the problem lies with the pressures imposed by Presbyterian Medical Group!

I have been with Dr. Liljestrand for many many years, as his practice has grown the care and follow up I receive has gone down hill. On average it takes 10 - 15 minutes to reach the main switch board and 4 - 5 days for a return phone call from the doctor's office. Dr. Lilestrand won't call you back either, his staff will.

Dr. Liljestrand is one of the most caring, patient doctors I have had. He takes the time to understand your symptoms, and is truly concerned for the well-being of his patients.
