Dr. John Griffith Linn, MD

My wife developed multiple abdominal hernias resulting from prior surgeries and was urged to have this issue addressed by her PCP. After appointments with three different surgeons in Florida who all encouraged her to have it done but stated the challenge was too complex for them to address. After failing to find a solution in Florida we came to Chicago seeking a surgeon to address her hernias. The first two felt it was too challenging but the second referred her to Dr. John Linn. When we met with Dr. Linn, he explained that complex hernia repair of this type was his focus. The surgery was a total success and one week out of surgery my wife is essentially pain free. Dr. Linn is a 5 star +++++

If you seek empathy or compassion for your situation Dr. Linn is NOT your doctor. As one example out of many....within 5 minutes of meeting him for the first time....he spoke in no uncertain terms that the hernia operation I needed would "hurt worse" than a more complex surgery( for another reason)I had gone through just two months prior! Pretty scary and unwelcome words with what I had just gone through. The list goes on of all the poor and improper communication he had with me. And...all of his predictions regarding various outcomes were wrong...including the hernia operation "hurting worse". He really needs a huge dose sensitivity training. He is a technician ...not a people person. I will not return to see him under any circumstance.
