Dr. John Christophe Lopshire, MD

I am writing this review as a concerned family member and main caregiver of a former patient of Dr. Lopshire in hopes of saving individuals/families the time and stress of being his patient. Dr. John Lopshire was the physician assigned to my housebound loved one from Visiting Physicians Association. Unfortunately, he could not have been more discourteous or ill-mannered to my sweet-tempered family member or family. Due to the intricacies of my family members medical condition, they had several specialists from area health systems. Dr. Lopshire would continually disagree with or be angered with the medical advice of those (highly regarded) specialists. If, by sheer chance, we were able to reach an employee via phone and obtain an in-person home visit, he rushed through each visit. He barely examined my family member aside from a courtesy poke and prod. Once while drawing my loved one’s blood, he told them to “Stop talking so I can concentrate.” As my loved one’s main caregiver, they… preferred me to speak to Dr. Lopshire regarding their current medical illnesses. I was often told by Dr. Lopshire to “Stop talking and let (X) speak.” I was interrupted and disregarded at almost every encounter with Dr. Lopshire. I have been step by step with my loved one through countless doctor visits (when they were able to leave the house), hospital stays, etc. I am well versed on their illnesses and medicines and Dr. Lopshire discounted my opinions and questions at every point in the process. We subsequently asked to switch to a different doctor from Visiting Physicians Association.

Dr Lopshire took the time to fully explain my diagnosis and was very courteous. He went the extra mile to ensure I was well informed prior to making a decision regarding an invasive procedure. On the day of the procedure, he met again with my family and I before the procedure. the case went very well and I would recommend Dr Lopshire strongly.

Have only seen this Dr once, but he seems very well trained in his professionWith only 4 years experience, he treated me very well. I have a follow-up soon, so I will know more of him at that tme.
