Dr. John W Lovett, MD

Dr. Lovett performed a Lithotripsy procedure for my very large kidney stone. He did not return any messages sent to him via MyChart 2 weeks before the procedure. When he showed up for the procedure his manner was very brusk. After the procedure my wife met with him to ask a few questions. He was incredibly rude to her and actually walked away while she was speaking, turned around and said I should go back to my doctor in NY to address any issues instead. What a jerk. STAY AWAY!!! BTW - he told me he got 70% of the stone but upon follow up with one of his associates the scan showed zero break up. Hate it when doctors are not honest...

My appointment was at 2:20 on Friday 6.20.19 and at 3:24 I had yet to be seen. I have a young child in day care and scheduled my appointment accordingly as to not interfere with that schedule. This doctor was tardy, non-apologetic, and seemed to not care at all about not adhering to an appointment time.

He has been a great help, thorough and successful

I went with my mother on her first appointment to see Dr. Lovett. She was referred to this practice by UNC-Chapel Hill. My mother is a kidney transplant patient who was having some problems. Of all the Dr I have experienced in my 55 years, Dr. Lovett was the most RUDE and ARROGANT Dr. I have ever witnessed. He seemed to be in a rush the entire time, talked in circles, wouldn't allow me to ask questions and gave us vague answers. It seemed that he didn't want to be bothered. My mother went with great hope and left feeling as if she had been verbally beaten up. I cannot express to you the disappointment my mother and I felt after this wasted visit.

In his last days of his life my uncle was at the Hospice Care unit with severe pain and unable to urinate. The staff attempted to put in a catheter but was unsuccessful because of an enlarged prostate. Hospice called four offices and were unable to find any Urologist that would assist. They called Dr. Lovettt and he came right away. Dr. Lovett was very gentle and performed the task with minimal trauma. We previously had a horrible experience with another well known Urologist in town that literally jammed a catheter into my uncle sending him through the roof. If I ever have to see a Urologist I would not consider anyone else.
