John C. Lucio, DO

Dr. Lucio actually CARES about his patients. He looks you in the face when he talks to you, and NOT at the computer screen! He is as fine a doctor as I have seen in my 81 years! I've had 11 back surgeries, 8 by one doctor, only to learn after the 8th, that 5 were unnecessar(in another state)""". I live with that pain from the massive scar tissue left after all that surgery. Dr. Lucio UNDERSTANDS what my p"ain is and has kept me active and able to be the 81 yr old tomboy I am even today! I can't say more except I'm proud for him and his new position. Maybe he can find more like himself, willing to move to Missouri to help us all. I pray so, anyway. SSM's gain will hopefully be a gain for EVERYBODY who enters Her doors with Dr. Lucio at the helm.

I have been going to Pain Specialists Doctor's for 15 years and I have had every new procedure that has came out with in that time period. I find that Dr. Lucio is a very caring and knowledgeable Doctor. After my last Pain Specialist Doctor that I "thought" really knew what he was doing and very knowledgeable I had been going to him for 8 years and every 3 months he would give me about 10 steroid shots which were very painful as he injected them right into my spine and it got to the point those injections felt like molted lava shooting down my leg and into my foot and blew out toes! Well before he left the state with out any advance warning or letter or even a phone call. He wanted to do a spinal stem cell injection which meant he was going to drill into my hip and pull out the morrow put in into a centrifuge then inject this into my spine!! And this NEW procedure was going to cost me 3 THOUSAND DOLLARs OUT OF MY POCKET that the insurance WOULDN'T COVER because it was a EXPERIMENTAL… PROCEDURE!! Well I was NOT HAPPY about being a guinea pig on a experimental procedure and the $3,000.00 COST OUT OF MY POCKET!! And the more I thought about what he was going to do the more ludicrous it sounded just think I have vertebrate on top of vertebrate in other words I have BONE on BONE for a spine what was going to hold these cells in place till they could attach and grow?? NOTHING!! Nothing the first time I bent over it wiped them out between the vertebrates where they were espouse to attach and grow!! But if it was going to help with my pain and he threaten not to treat me anymore if I didn't go through with it. And that was the last time I saw him he jumped out of state with out any notice!!! Leaving ALL of his patients that are in a great deal of PAIN!! . Well after I spoke to Dr. Lucio about what the other Pain Specialist Doctor did Dr. Lucio told me this Doctor wasn't even Licensed or Trained to do this NEW PROCEDURE!!!! Well people Dr. Lucio is the TENTH "10" Pain Specialist Doctor I have when to and he is the best!!! Now unless you want to go through all the unnecessary PAIN and OUT OF POCKET MONEY and SEARCHING looking for a Pain Doctor get with Dr. Lucio and know you got the BEST!!! He doesn't say a lot but you can just tell by all the years he has in PAIN Specialty you can just see he understands your PAIN his eyes seem as if he like is looking right thought you and is seeing you pain. Save yourself time and pain and see Dr. Lucio its well worth it don't SUFFER ANY LONGER THEN YOU ARE NOW!! Bob Davis Sunrise Beach MO.

I really like this doctor very much, his staff is also number one in my book , they will go the extra mile to stop your pain ,

I have severe back issues and have a weight issue I have seen 4 docs that said there is no hope Lucio has a plan to help which is more than anyone else has had !

I injured my back at work in 2001 or 2002 and I couldn't even lift up my feet five hours later and that was very scary and I was in horrific pan. I had been doing great up until 2011. I went to another pain management doctor and not one of the epidural's administered worked and I have been in pain since. I was looking up doctor's in this field when I came across a lot of negative reviews made and I have to disagree with them. He was and I am sure a very good doctor as well as his staff.

He should seek a different career,went to him for pain relief,and he wanted me to take magnesium,and a journal of what food I eat.He hasn't helped me with anything.He is a joke Dr.,might make a better dietician,he believes he can fix my pain by studying my diet.He is after that easy insurance money.

Dr Lucio& his staff at st Mary's hospital are very great drs he does a good job sometimes I fall asleep when he's doing the procuder

Dr. Lucio and his staff are so very caring. They truly want to help ease pain in a safe and appropriate manner. I recommend this amazing team to anyone and everyone!
