Dr. John Roherty Luckasen, MD

Very rude, kept interrupting while I talked and made me wait for an hour.

From reading the negative reviews here, I was prepared for Dr. Luckasen to be wearing a scowl, and to treat me with contempt and/or impatience. After making the appointment, I was tempted to request another doctor at the clinic. Imagine my relief when he turned out to be kind, friendly, and patient--the very opposite of what I expected! The session was very brief because it took him about 5 seconds to diagnose my skin disease as psoriasis. I believe this diagnosis is probably correct because unbeknownst to him, I have had psoriasis on knees and elbows. Although he spent perhaps 2 minutes total with me, the session was just as long as it needed to be--there was no feeling of it being rushed or superficial. So I am very glad that I didn't chicken out based on believing some negative reviews but gave the good doctor a chance to prove himself. I would be happy to have future appointments with Dr. Luckasen.

I saw Luckasen as a new patient and he spent less than two minutes with me. He seemed annoyed that he had to see me. Perhaps time to retire... Will never see this doctor again.

Dr. Luckasen did my annual mole check this year and was so kind, calm and competent. He listened patiently, identified a mole that needed to be removed, explained the entire process, efficiently removed the mole and kept me calm. He was so kind. I've never experienced better care. He is amazing. I wish all doctors could be like him.

Good service

Dr Luckasen did my upper and lower eyelids and did an excellent job. He also did several chemical peels on my skin and I was extremely pleased. He was always super friendly and helpful and always answered my questions.

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Luckasen because he was the only one who could get me in while I was in town. It was my first time visiting a dermatologist, and he was no help. He was MAYBE in the room for 3 minutes. I went for acne, and all he did was ask me what I was there for, draw a face on his notepad, and write me a prescription. He didn't look at my skin ONCE or ask me anything about my routines or what products I use. He simply said "this is what it is" and wrote me a prescription (mind you I hadn't even been weighed by anyone, so there's no way he knew what dosage to give me). I told him the medicine he was prescribing me didn't react well with my body, and instead of finding another route to go he wrote me a prescription for another medicine to take as well to counter act the side effects of the first one. I have never had such a terrible appointment and am very upset with the fact that my time and money were wasted. DO NOT recommend.

It has been 5 years since I have seen Dr.Luckasen but he has always been one of the best physicians that I have ever visited. He has always been courteous and always given a correct diagnosis and treatment. From reading the other patients experiences I cannot believe that he has changed that much in 5 years. He and Dr. Fonda are the top Dermatologists that I have ever seen.

Knowledgeable, professional and answered the three questions I asked of him. Does not push cosmetic services like some of the derms are doing.
