Dr. John Richard Maggiore, MD

I initially chose Dr. Maggiore because I wanted to see a doctor with a lot of years of experience. One would think any doctor would seem interested and compassionate during the initial first visit, which is supposed to be thorough, and take at least 30 minutes. When Dr. Maggiore came into the examining room I was waiting in, he didn't even introduce himself, smile, or sound the least bit welcoming - instead he just said "so, what can we do for you today?" What? "Do for me?" Good grief, I thought I'd mistaken the place for some urgent care facility. I said "um, well for starters, how about we go over the serious problems I've been having, which I took the time to write out and gave you along with all the usual paperwork and forms?" He replied, "there's a lot of stuff on here". Yeah, so? Isn't this why we all go to doctors in the first place? I really felt as though I was bothering him, or maybe he was having a bad day. Either way, he left me thinking that he's tired of… being a doctor, or needs to be thinking about retirement. I've seen many docs in my 70 years, and this visit goes down as one of the most disjointed, unimpressive appointments I've ever had the displeasure of going to. I plan on giving him another chance, while I'm also continuing to look around. I'd figured this would be the last GP I'd ever be seeing, but apparently Dr. Maggiore may not be that doc. He seemed pleasant and all, up to where it was evident I had some serious issues going on, which is when he passed the buck and referred me to two other doctors. Sad thing was, his office took two whole weeks to make the referrals and call me.
