Dr. John Malaty, MD

Dr. John Malaty is a dual-specialty physician with expertise in both family medicine and otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. Having practiced for 22 years, he earned his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. His combination of specialties allows him to provide comprehensive primary care while also addressing complex ear, nose, throat, and head and neck conditions. Dr. Malaty is fluent in both English and Spanish, enabling him to serve a diverse patient population.

Dr. Malaty practices at multiple locations throughout Gainesville, Florida, including UF Health Family Medicine Main and various facilities within the Shands Healthcare system. He treats patients with chronic kidney disease, including advanced stage 5 disease, and manages type 2 diabetes mellitus. His practice incorporates rehabilitative approaches such as physical therapy and strength training to support patient recovery and overall health.
