Dr. John Philip Masciale, MD

I thank God for Dr. Masciale doing my moms emergency back surgery. She is 95 years old and fell and was in such pain. After surgery she is pain free and back to her normal self. He did an awesome job and I am very grateful to him for his amazing care and concern for her. Thank you so so much Dr. Masciale.

I had my L-4 collapse onto my L-5 and the pain was terrible. The nerve root was trapped. The pain was beyond anything I have ever felt in my life. There was no escape from it. I could not sit, lay or position myself to ease the pain. When I called his office everybody could tell the urgency and pain, as I was crying. Their office stepped up to the plate big time and got me in to see the Nurse Practitioner. She was caring and comforting. I had an emergency MRI of my Lumbar, which his office staff sent to him at the hospital in between surgeries. He reviewed it and determined it to be an emergency situation. He along with his staff made all the arrangements at the hospital for me to get admitted right away. I was in bad shape and Dr. Mass took the time to chisel away calcified bone and clean up the mess in my back, as well as Laminectomy, Discectomy, Hmong other things. I was in the hospital 6 days due to my bad spinal condition. I am blessed to be able to walk. I am now 6 weeks out of… surgery and beginning Physical Therapy. I have followed their instructions to the letter and will continue to do so, as I have partial drop foot and some hip issues as a result of my trauma. I did not have an accident or a fall. The simple truth is I waited too long to have back surgery. I was told I needed surgery 15 years ago and I thought I was too young at that time, so I managed the pain with aspirin and Tylenol over the years. My L-4 just gave out and collapsed. Dr. Mass is not a man of many words, but his words matter. He is a serious man for which I am glad. He may not have the bedside manner people expect, but he is the kind of doctor you want if you have an emergency with your spine. His staff Mary, Dusty, Nadine and all his staff were excellent in their assistance to me. I can not thank them enough for recognizing how critical the situation was and fast action to get things addressed. I am very grateful to them all. I highly recommend them.

The examination and questions asked were above and beyond what we’ve had with many other drs. The staff went above and beyond getting us a quick appointment with another surgeon. The only complaint was the cold exam room, but a blanket was provided quickly when asked for. We will not hesitate using Dr. Masciale again.

Worst appt I’ve had in my life. After waiting for hours, I left feeling as if I wasted my time and money. I will NEVER see this doctor again.

Dr. Masciale and staff will go the extra mile to help you with not only your physical well-being but they actually will help with insurance and leave problems. The staff are the most caring I have ever seen. Thank you Amanda, Frances, Amber & Ram!

Went to him, recommended surgery did the surgery. My pain was worse after the surgery then before. He authorize the CT scan of my hip. Which showed slight narrowing, then wanted me to wait two weeks before he would make his decision while I was still in pain which seems that he did not care . I went to another doctor and injection was authorized and I’m now free of pain. Seems all their company wants the money and really don’t care about how their patients feel

I waited more than 3 hours past my appointment time on 3 different visits.

2007 laminotomy not laminectomy. Good through surgical process and surgical incision healing. Yet no real helpful remedy overall. I don't believe this is a fault of Dr Maciale, he was a compassionate and caring physician willing to try to make a difference. Yet when you consider a surgical process you always hope for relief and I did not have that outcome. I recommend him as a surgeon but maybe diagnostic isn't every physician's strong point.
