Dr. John G Masso, DDS

Dr. Masso pulled two root canals and did a sinus lift, bone graft and inserted two implants. He prescribed initial preventative antibiotics but did not prescribe further treatment after 6 weeks of chronic sinusitis that ensued. After asking many times for more help, I was told to just wait and take over the counter decongestants. I asked to be referred to an ENT, and he refused. I sought an ENT's help, and had sinus surgery due to severe sinus infection that Dr. Masso denied existed. He didn't return calls or respond to emails while he was "at sea" on vacation, and does not have a doctor cover for him on vacation periods of a week. He does not refer to doctors beyond his care because "he handles it all himself", even when the patient is having complications. I have suffered greatly now after 4 months of pain and chronic infection that seems to have no cure. Dr. Masso minimized my concerns and would not address financial and pain and suffering ensued under his care. True nightmare.

Dr. Masso is a real life angel!!! I absolutely adore him and his wife Ana! I have never had a dentist fully explain his process/procedures and made me feel at ease. I suffer from anxiety issues, the moment I get to their office they make me feel at ease. Dr. Masso is not a salesman in the least! He offers multiple options always and I’ve never felt pressured. And the man is an artist!!!! He took a photo of me from 1999 and gave me my smile back!!!! I don’t look like I have a mouth full of crowns. Dr. Masso is gentle as well. I have nothing but faith in him and believe every word he says. Truly, I feel like Dr. Masso not only brought my smile back, but made me feel like my old self. Oh! My favorite part! He sees 1 patient at a time, no waiting in the waiting room, no feeling neglected, no feeling rush, and the office is immaculately clean. It’s a very personalized experience. The office is in a great location. There is a park and several restaurants close by the office. Plus Belcourt… theater. So, you can treat yourself after an appointment. More importantly, he has the technology in his office. He is able to take 3D xrays, he can make permanent crowns, bridges, implants, etc. in an appointment with no gross impressions. The knowledge and technology that he possesses is incredible.

A few years ago, I went to a dentist who not only gave me an incredibly painful experience, but also broke a tooth and did not repair it. That tooth got incredibly infected over the years and after causing me severe pain, I was referred to Dr. Masso. I'm a college student and this was my first trip to the dentist alone, and Dr. Masso and Ana were so kind and gentle and helped me to feel as comfortable as could concerning how afraid I was off the dentist. From giving me granola bar when I almost passed out, to playing my favorite music, to getting me a blanket, they made the tooth extraction and implant placement so easy. And when I was worried about complications a few days after surgery, they saw me despite the office being closed. I am so grateful for these beautiful people who have made a painful and terrifying experience something that has shown me that people can have such goodness and kindness.
