Dr. John Joseph Mccarthy, PhD

Dr McCarthy was wonderful to me. I had 2 knee replacements within a year, and I feel so much better, no pain, a new lease on life. I highly recommend Dr McCarthy (and have), Tidewater Orthopedics, and Sentara Williamsburg Hospital if you need knee replacement. I was so afraid to have this done, but so glad I did. He is the best.

After both a hip and a knee replacement over the past 5 years, all I can say about Dr. McCarthy is "Excellent!"

I wouldn't give any stars, if it allowed me to! I completely regret going to him. He ignored my complaints and symptoms for 5 months. The complaints and symptoms were completely legitimate that was festering into a major infection, that could have been avoided if he had just took me serious at the very first complaint. The infection would never have gotten as bad, if I had been treated with the correct antibiotics from the start. Knowing the history of the infection, he should have taken my complaints of severe pain serious! I have never felt so betrayed by a medical professional before in my life until now.
