Dr. John Lee Mccormick, MD

Dr McCormick is a very knowledgeable physician and I have no problem with him or his bedside manner, but his assistant doesn't return phone calls, doesn't send in the needed information for insurance prior authorizations and then she will lie to your face when confronted about it. My spouse has been without needed medication for a month because of her inability to perform her duties.

I was referred to Dr. McCormick by my primary physician to address the arthritis and other pain issues I was having. From the beginning, Dr. McCormick listen carefully to my explanations and ask reasonable questions about my pain. He did what I consider a very thorough exam, especially since I wasn't expecting a check Of this type, which included looking at my gait, the way my feet and hips moved during different exercises, and the extent of mobility I had in the areas that were suspected for arthritis. Dr. McCormick also ordered blood test and x-rays of the affected areas on that very same day even though it was nearing 4 PM. My experience had earlier been that hospital personnel at Intermountain healthcare word always the friendliest or most concerned about getting your test done, so I was little worried I would be sent home and asked come back. This would have meant 125 mile round-trip for each visit. Fortunately the good doctor ensured that I got in to get all work done on that day… which made me very happy. I've only seen Dr. McCormick twice but he is now part of the treating team for my arthritis (both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis), and he has proven helpful with some of the other diseases I have searches liver and kidney disease. So far I'm very happy with his service and enjoy his personality. I have not had a problem reaching his office to set an appointment or to obtain records necessary for reviews concerning my employer and the disabilities I face.

When I have an issue to be addressed and call the office, I have to be extremely persistent in continuing to call, even visiting in person, to get any follow-up from doctor or nurse. It takes over a month to get in for an appointment, even during flare-ups with severe symptoms. I understand he's a busy doctor, but patients deserve more respect than this.
