I've never heard a negative comment about Dr. McElroy. And, concerning my experience with him up to now (he's been my orthopedist for just over three years), you will only hear positive things from me. All of my friends that he's treated sing his praises as a surgeon and as a great guy. He's highly recommended. His office is run efficiently, his staff is caring and kind, and Dr McElroy is spectacular!

I had my knee done 3 years ago. I wish I would have done it sooner. I got my life back. I feel I had the best care. I have heard alot of stories about going out of town to get the surgery but I feel you can get the best surgery here in our own hometown.

I had broken my knee. he butchered it getting out the debris, was looking at another patients chart (& called me by the wrong name) when i went for a follow up, still unable to walk or stand asked if i could ride a bike, then left it alone saying it was fine. 4 years later, constantly hurts and swells and the torn ligament is still left unattached. don't go to him unless you want to hurt for the rest of your life!!!!

I haven't reported back since 2 weeks after my surgery so I thought I would let everyone know that I am doing fantastic. I am so pleased with Dr. Mc Elroy and the Stryker knee. I am going up and down steps with ease, walking with ease, I wish I had done this before. I wasted 2 years if "limping" around and when I finally decided that I could not live like that anymore, could not do my job properly, I went to research all the Drs. in and out of the area. I even spoke with people that had been a patient of Dr. Mc Elroy. I had the surgery, and it went well, not to say that if I had another, it would be that great, you never know, every circumstance is different. But, with this time, it was great. The staff at Camden Clark Orthepedic Center was terrifric. No fooling around with them, they get you up, you get dressed in your shorts or sweats, (no laying around in a hospital gown and have the humiliation of wakking around in a hospital gown), you go to exercise with others who have… had like surgery that day or week. It is altogether, so you can see how some progress well, and maybe gives you an incentive to do the best that you can do. Everything doesn't always work great at first, but the staff is so helpful and pleasant to be with. After getting out of the hospital, I chose the Rehabilitation center in the same building as Dr. Mc Elroy. It was well worth the time to go there. They, again were very professional and pleasant and made me want to do well. It has been a little over a year since my surgery and I can't thank everyone enough for the "Parkersburg Orthopedic Package" that I chose. Mc Elroy, Camden Clark Orthopedic Center and the Rehabilitation Center in the same building as Mc Elroy. They were all my choices. You must continue to exercise after this surgery because you will get a little stiff if you don't. My husband went to New Albany in Columbus and our experience was nothing like I had here locally. People have said, yes they exercised there, but until you know the difference, there is no way to compare. They got "minimal" exercise, nothing like Camden Clark Center did. I saw for myself. New Albany is a beautiful Building, looks great, and Drs. are very good, but it cannot compare with the attention, planning, support, and results that I got here locally. I wish more people would write a review, good or bad, because when I was going to get this done, I could not find any reviews at all. It certainly helps ease your mind to know that someone had a good experience and also, need to know if someone is not pleased. If my husband has another knee done, he will go to Dr. Mc Elroy.

If you have a problem Doc is informative, sincere, offers options including possible progression of diagnosis. He doesn't push you directly into surgery and openly discusses your potential for the best recovery. Some of us let ourselves get sedentary, overweight,some just have inherited problems. A poor diet during childhood or recent years play into our problems too. Dr,McElroy considers all factors. His staff is excellent,family oriented and helpful to all caregivers of patients.

He was wonderful to our family when our daughter was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. He was a doctor, neighbor and friend.We had everything wrapped up in one package, just a great caring man.
