Dr. John Mcguigan, PhD

Arrogant and Rude.. My injury was a waste of his time. I played guitar professionally for 35 years. My left hand injury ended that. Dr. McGuigan dismissed that, telling me I could be a Wal-Mart Greeter. Sorry my fingered weren't severed in the auto accident. Maybe then I would have gotten treatment.

I can't stress enough the excellent care Dr. McGuigan provided me. I was in a terrible accident and he helped me emotionally and physically thru a very difficult time in my life. I can't thank him enough.

Dr. McGuigan is a very busy doctor. He took the time needed to explain my injuries, the plan and what I should expect. He is honest and truthful and I couldn't be any happier with the results.

Dr. McGuigan is a very busy trauma surgeon. He took time to answer all my questions and concerns. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor given the bad injury I had. He got me back on my feet.

Dr.Mcguigan is not rude! He is a great physician. His bedside manner is fine. Sometimes we can be overly sensitive. My family was in a recent car accident, my son was in bad shape, Dr. Mcguigan has been excellent, sure he is loud his voice travels but he is good at what he does. He is confident and very professional. He explained in detail everything that he planned to do before he touched my son. His staff is professional and friendly. Keep up the good work Dr. Mcguigan. I would definitely recommend him!

I have read the other reviews. Dr. McGuigan is very conservative and caring. He takes his time to explain the injury and the plan of care. If the patients parents were sure of the care plan they should have asked more questions. I was very happy with the way he treated my child with a broken leg.

I had my 3 yr old daughter taken to ER on one evening after she fell from her chair, and apparently hurt her arm. They did some x-rays & test and did not find anything. But she was crying and seemed like in total pain. When we were dispatched from the ER, we were given a follow up appt with McGuigan. We went to see the doc a couple of days later. Our daughter still seemed to be in pain. McGuigan relooked at the er tests and told us everything seemed ok. But he would ve to put her in cast. He tells us if we do not decide not to put the cast, it would be our responsibility if something is wrong. He would take no responsibility. I thought that was a very rude thing to say. He was ill-mannered. As parents, we want the best for our child. So, we decide to put the cast. The nurse(a guy) who put the cast were very rude to our 3 yr old. She was crying and was not willing to move her hand. The nurse rudely was applying force on her while putting the cast, instead of being nice and gentle with… her. After a day or so, our child seemed ok and was telling us to remove this cast as it was itching. When asked, if her hand hurts, she used to say "no". So, as a hunch, we decided to take a 2nd opinion with another doc. The other doc looked at all the results, did another x-ray himself and found no problem. He took off the cast and started playing with her hand, and he asserted that everything looks fine and she did not need for a cast at all. It was not necessary to put a cast at all in the first place. A splint would ve been good enough. And surely so, after a day or so, she was absolutely fine. We now feel that McGuigan conned us to getting the cast. We had to spend $150 from our pocket, in addition to the insurance coverage. I would never ever try to see McGuigan, and would advice others the same.
