Takes time to answer any questions you may have, explains everything to you in a manor in which you can understand.

Dr. John Mehegan has no bedside manner. Rude and crude. Comes across as if he doesn't care whether you live or die. Take it or leave it is the impression my mother-in-law and myself felt. I personally would never go to this man. There are plenty of other cardiologists available and I intend to see that we go elsewhere. Dr. Mehegan actually made fun to his assistant while I was walking by them that I didn't know where Walmart was located (I Don't live in Ia City). His words were that I didn't know highway 6 from 1. Very unprofessional and unkind to make fun of someone's ignorance. What goes around comes around.

Dr. Mehegan is an excellent cardiologist who is supported by an excellent professional and nursing staff and partner cardiologist in his office. He is considerate, likable, and funny... attempts to explain your issues clearly... understands when he does not know what is wrong and is willing to admit it... knows what is wrong a very high percentage of the time even with difficult diagnosis and follows up when necessary.
