Dr. John Antoni Michael, MD

On a recent trip to the ER for dehydration, Dr. Michael failed to follow through with ordering an IV with fluids and I couldn't even get a cup of water. He was too casual in demeanor, had a jokey, laissez-faire attitude and made me feel like I was not in good hands.

I came in with a gynecology issue and this doctor refused to believe my issue even though I had already been diagnosed by a specialist. He constantly belittled me and was rude to me the entire visit. He was refusing to give me medication to help my issue until he finally spoke with a gynecologist, who agreed my issue was very serious and I needed to be treated. I have never felt so mistreated by a medical professional in my life. I hope nobody else ever gets treatment like this. Nobody should have to argue with a doctor to get the help they need while they are in severe pain.

I got in a car accident and my shoulder was hurting really bad the next day, so I went to the ER at Salem Hospital. Dr Michael was my physician. I told him that I took some ibuprofen the night before because it hurt a little, but I don't think it did anything. He ended up giving me a prescription for Motrin, which is actually just ibuprofen. I took it, and it did nothing, just like the night before. I don't understand why this drug is prescribed if it's also an over the counter medication. He did nothing for me except waste 5 hours of my time.
