Dr. John Mihailidis, MD

Dr Mihailidis is simply the best! He is so kind and caring and actually listens to me. He sat and explained things to me about my thyroid condition that my previous 3 endocrinologists over the past 6 years had never mentioned. I never feel rushed. He started me on treatment and now I finally feel awesome. He is quick to get back to me with lab results. I’m so lucky to have him as my endocrinologist and I hope he never leaves WNY! There is a huge shortage of them here and many are retiring (like my previous two) so I understand he can’t see every single patient that needs an endocrinologist. That’s not his fault. His staff is always respectful and kind as well. His office is very busy.

I was a patient of Dr.Marte ( Buffalo Medical Group). Dr. Marte was my endocrinologist and was awesome. He recently left the practice, so I called Buffalo Medical Group and asked them what to do. They told me Dr. Mihailidis just came to their group and he has agreed to accept any patients of Dr. Marte who would like to be seen by Dr. Mihailidis. I called Dr. Mihailidis and spoke to his office secretary. She told me that , after looking at my medical file, I'm not sick and do not need an endocrinologist. She said Dr. Mihailidis would not accept me as a patient, even though his boss , the Buffalo Medical Group said he had to accept me. I have been seeing an endocrinologist for over a year for multiple thyroid issues. I asked her if me being transgender had anything to do with my patient denial. She responded we will see whoever we want, our decision no one else's and started laughing at me. Words cannot describe how I was treated. Horrible treatment. I guess discrimination is still a… problem in the LGBTQ community.
