The office staff was kind, but this doctor is incompetent. I went to see him for redness, swelling, and pain on the left side of my face and head and swollen lymph nodes. The area was also hot to the touch. He said he'd never seen anything like that before and had no idea what it was. He said not to worry about it. My husband and I were visibly upset. He then said that it must be an allergy and I should see a dermatologist. When I explained to him that I didn't have allergies and that allergies don't cause pain, he looked things up in a medical book. He then said that he was sure that it was trigeminal neuralgia. I looked it up and told him that my symptoms were very different and it seemed like an infection. He said that it could not be an infection, and that he was now positive that it was trigeminal neuralgia. We told him that we were going to the er and he said that he was sure that they would confirm his diagnosis. The er doctor immediately diagnosed me with cellulitis, a skin… infection. I was given a shot of antibiotics and two strong oral ones to take at home. She said that it was a good thing that I sought treatment. Infections like this can spread quickly and it was close to my brain. This was yesterday, and the infection is already beginning to clear up. If you go to this doctor, you are risking your life.
