Dr. John Wayne Mitchell, MD

Excellent!

I have very mixed feelings about this practice. I like Dr. Mitchell. He is easy to talk to but I felt I did not fully have his attention and he was not as concerned about my condition as I was. I have never had any heart problems in my 70 years and suddenly this month it is consistently over 200. Forget about calling after hours as no body has ever returned my calls even after repeated attempts that night. I ended up at the Emergency Room where they were very concerned and had me there for almost 4 hours before my BP went down to acceptable levels. I've taken a stress test where the tech says there is some damage already and am meeting with the Dr. tomorrow so I will decide then if I stay with this practice or not. A good bit depends on his response to my not getting return calls from after hour calls.

I would not be alive if it were not for this man.

I truly believe that Dr. Mitchell is the best cardiologist in the East Alabama / West Georgia area. He basically put EAMC on the map. They were nothing before he came to this area. He definitely took care of me and I would highly recommend him to others.

Dr. Mitchell has the best bedside manner of any doctor I've ever met. He was incredibly empathic with me. He diagnosed and treated my heart condition promptly and was most professional. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family.
