Dr. John Lockwood Ochsner, MD

It's my understanding Dr Oshner did a great job on my mother's knee replacement. However, instead of referring her out to someone who is willing to help with pain management he keeps her coming back and running tests she cannot afford. Then tells my 78 year old mother to walk. News flash she is in too much pain to walk. I work in pharmacy and these poor people are in such despair. They are taking 2 to 3 times the max dose of tylenol and ibuprofen trying to get relief because nobody will help them. Alcoholics with decades of recovery are relapsing desperate for relief from the pain. People are committing suicide to escape their pain. Could you have prevented a suicide? Things must change with over prescribing opioids but causing suffering is CRUEL. If you perform the surgery but are not going help afterwards, refer the patient out. Do not keep milking an old lady's insurance. At the very least give out info on the clinics in states that perform euthanasia. We don't allow dogs to… suffer but we pat ourselves on the back about fighting the opioid battle by sending patients out the door to fend for themselves and to wish it was their time to meet their maker. Shame on all of us.

In 1989 it was discovered I had NO right hip socket. 1990 I did not have a hip replacement Lockwood built me a hip. Every procedure he wanted to do was explained in detail before the surgery. He listened, spent time and made sure I was at ease with everything. When I needed to go to x-ray, he and his assistants took me down, not an orderly. Almost 18 months after the surgery when I got a bee sting on the scare tissue, returned to the hospital he's the one who tended to me, not the doctor on call. Because of him I was able to get back into coaching, attending, and playing with my 3 sons. Dr. Lockwood. it's been 24 years and I'm still walking.

I would not recommend this Dr. To anyone. Don't waist your time.He needs to update his education.
