Dr. John Edward Oxler JR., MD

If you are healthy and you don't go to your doctor within a 3-year period they drop you as a patient. If you need records sent from their office to your new doctor you have to find out on your won that you need to come in to the office and complete a form. When I called in and requested records, they transferred the call over to records department. No one answers the phone in records, the greeting said to leave your name and number for a call back. They don't call back and they don't answer the phone.

Not overly expository but provides answers to specific issues and questions. A quiet but assuring man.

Very sub-par pain management and did not order my maint meds while I was admitted

I have been going to Dr. Oxler since 1980. He has seen me for typical teenage issues, through to middle age. He has treated me for everything from a throat infection to more serious issues such as high blood pressure, digestive issues, and diagnosed two issues requiring referals to a surgeon. Dr. Oxler is a great diagnostician, and will spend as much time as needed with his patients. He is business like which is good for me. I would and have HIGHLY recommend Dr. Oxler!

I WAS A NEW PATIENT WITH DR OXYLER AND I HAD AN APPOINTMENT FOR A PHYSICAL. I HAVE HIGH CHOLESTEROL AND OTHER RELATED ISSUES. I WAS NOT INSTRUCTED TO FAST SO I ASSUMED THAT THE DOCTOR WOULD WRITE UP MY LAB ORDERS, HAVE ME FAST AND THEN GO TO A LAB FOR MY BLOOD WORK. INSTEAD, HE HAD LAB WORK DONE AT THE OFFICE WITHOUT MY HAVING FASTED. I ASSUMED THAT HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING AND THAT MAYBE SOME OF THE TESTS WOULD BE DONE ANOTHER DAY. I WAS WRONG ON BOTH ASSUMPTIONS. HE WENT AHEAD AND DID THE LABS THAT REQUIRE FASTING. OF COURSE THE RESULTS WERE TOTALLY INACCURATE. I HAD TO FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR AND REPEAT MUCH OF THE TESTS AND PAY A SECOND TIME JUST WEEKS LATER. IF HE IS THIS INCOMPETENT ON THE FIRST APPOINTMENT, I DON'T INTEND TO STICK AROUND FOR ANY MORE. I ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR TO ANYONE ELSE!
