Dr. John Paul Papp, MD

Dr. doesn't listen, can hear everything he is saying to other patients about their condition, get in a line naked, wrapped in a sheet to wait your turn. Makes lots of referrals for other testing without discussion.

My experience with Dr Papp was horrible. He quickly dismissed my gastro problem as stress when there was at least two other tests he could have performed. He has his aides call you with information and never follows up. Take your business elsewhere especially if you are over 60

I am a very complicated case and he is always taking his time with me. I have been to Ann Arbor and prefer Dr. Papp Sr.

Dr. Papp is an excellent diagnostician but his staff is unbelievably incompetent. There are long hold times and they do not answer the phone even when their recording indicates they are IN. Allow 15 minutes after opening and 15 minutes after lunch for phone response. This is very, VERY unprofessional.

The moment you meet him he has a calming sense. He does not treat you like a number, like a lot of docs. Do, I honestly felt that he truly cared about my treatment and we'll being. Anyone that needs this type of service don't hesitate to see him. I saw too other gastro docs. Before him with no results. After Dr. Papa I finally feel normal

I just moved to Grand Rapids and met Dr. Papp Sr. for the first time. He was not only arrogant but condescending. I merely wanted something to assist me with some problems for hemorrhoids. He refused and went on and on about Colon Cancer. He would not even examine me until I would schedule a colonoscopy and kept speaking about surgery and Cancer. Not only did this scare me but he was so rude. I felt like he was unwilling to examine me unless he was getting paid to perform a surgical surgery. Others wise, it was not worth his time to treat some a minor problem as hemorrhoids. He almost ready to shove the Colon Cancer diagnosis down my throat before seeing my records. I am young and have a clean bill of health. I just wanted to have some treatment options for the hemorrhoids all the while he just kept going on about colon cancer. He worried me and it was an absolute mistake to see him. He wanted to schedule a colonoscopy and I decided against trusting him to perform this. I consider this… experience the worst doctor patient encounter I have ever received. I left his office crying because of his poor bedside manner and condescending attitude.

Dr. Papp Jr became the default specialist to see when my surgeon of 25 yrs retired. After losing my request to transfer my records to him, his office received a visit in person from me to make sure the paperwork was redone well in advance of my appt. After another month they still didn't have any clue about my medical records, so I had to postpone the appt. again. Once they finally got them, I waited almost 2 hours beyond my appt. time in the waiting room. They then confessed to me that they had another patient by the same name as mine, had called to remind him of "his" (my) appointment that day, and he drove 2 hours to be seen for my appointment only to waste hours of his own time before they realized their mistake.. By this point it was 5:45pm and I had had enough. I never saw Dr.Papp Jr as I was not about to put my health in the hands of this office. I did some research and found another specialist to take over for my retired surgeon. If you prefer to be treated like a… person rather than a wrong number, you should do the same.
