What should have been a routine tooth extraction turned into a nightmare. I was discharged with no after care instructions, no pain meds, no antibiotics. I had to go back twice with problems before he finally prescribed antibiotics. Only after suggesting that we go in surgically and "scrape everything out". I opted for the antibiotic route and was better within a day. After suffering for a week and missing work.

This is a very long story but I feel future patients should be aware of how Northview Dental chose to conduct business with me. I had just started going to Northview Dental after my dentist of 10+ years retired. I went in for my first cleaning and had mentioned pain in my lower jaw. They took x-ray’s and Dr. Benson informed me a root canal was needed. The root canal was scheduled and upon receiving it (performed by Dr. John Pasicznyk) other than the moderate pain that coincides with a typical root canal all seemed well. Fast forward a few weeks later and many sleepless nights the same pain grew to be excruciating. I visited them 5 or 6 times to figure out what would be causing the same pain to not go away and I was continually informed that they couldn’t find anything wrong (after taking more x-rays) so they would “fix” my bite in hopes that was the problem. I started to feel like they thought I was crazy and making it up. The pain then became so bad I couldn’t take it anymore… so they referred me to an endodontist. Unfortunately, the endodontist Northview Dental wanted to send me to could not get me in till the next day and here is where the real conflict lies. Since I was so desperate for answers and for the pain to go away I took it upon myself to find someone that could work me in that day. The first thing the new practice did was take an x-ray and were able to see immediately what was causing the very aggressive pain. They explained that the pain was caused by “excessive material in the root of my gum”. Basically Dr. Pasiczynk went too far down on one side of the root causing the extreme nerve pain. I was stunned and immediately so angry that Northview Dental did not catch this the first visit back when I complained of the pain. To end a long story, I needed a surgical procedure done to cut open my gum and cut out the extra piece that was left. This cost me way more money than what I was planning on paying and time off of work. Northview did not apologize for any inconvenience or for the agony I had been in for weeks and because I hadn’t gone to the office they referred me to they were not willing to discuss anything further. They only briefly explained that these things can happen and there is nothing they will do.
