Dr. John-Paul Paul Voelkel, MD

My wife has had a fever for over 21 days after going to the Crestwood ER we were referred to go to Dr. Voelkel. Upon calling his office we were told that our health insurance was not accepted. I explained to the staff that we have an Health Savings Account (HSA) which means that we self pay unless the cost of service exceeds our deductible of $10,000. Our deductible amount sits in an HSA account until we need service! She informed me that because we had an HSA that we fall under a second class structure (no insurance class) and would not be seen for months. I proceeded to ask if I had blue cross/blue shield would I be seen sooner and the answer was yes! I pleaded with her that my wife really needed to see the doctor! She said, "Unless I was willing to wait 3 months for a cash pay appointment they would refuse to see us."

Terrible place —don’t waste your time. They are so hard to get ahold of and actually get someone on the phone. Long wait times...dr spent about 5 mins in the room.

Dr. Voelkel is highly professional, very well trained, has years of experience, listens, gives options, understanding and caring. He and his staff are great to work with and are busy because they are the BEST! Recommend this MD to all.
