Dr. John Ambrose Poremba, MD

This clown tried endlessly to put me on unneeded cholesterol lowering medication just so he could get a handout from the pharmaceutical company and when I refused to get on pills I do not need, as my cholesterol is and always has been within range, he got very angry and even had his nurses tell me he no longer works at my local hospital. He does! Just another money hungry dr who could care less who he hurts with his overprescribing of unnecessary medications. Be careful folks! This clown is ONLY in it for the money!

I have been seeing Dr. Portman for over two years. I feel so much better. Now it is once a year visit. Very worth it.

This gentleman is knowledgeable, approachable and personable. He explained all info in terms that made sense. He answered all our questions and not once did we feel we were being rushed. He truely cares about his patients. We highly recommend this provider.

My sugars have never been so good before Dr. P sugars in 400's and 500's after seeing Dr. P my highest sugars with eating has only been 179 I have not seen the 200's in over a month. He is caring and the follow up is unbelievable. The entire group is AWESOME!!!

I called the pharmacy for my insulin days ago and as of a couple of days ago it had not been filled. I called them today and they said the doctor's office has still not sent in the order. I called the Endocrinology department today and found they haven't sent in my order. This was at noon and told them I finally ran out of insulin yesterday. The nurse said they would call in my prescription which was 2 hours ago at this point of the day. They did not. I was on the phone back and forth 4 times with the pharmacy and the nurse at Elliot. With 45 minutes left in their work day for Elliot Endocrinology I called again since the pharmacy still didn't have the order. They basically said too bad it might get filled tomorrow. I gave them 1 star because I can't give them a zero. Thanks a lot Elliot Endocrinology.

Dr. Poremba is AMAZING, which is why he has a 6 month wait for an appointment (and I'm an established patient). His bedside manner is kind, caring, and he involves you in your care decisions. He works with you to come up with a treatment plan; he doesn't just dictate what you will do. I just can't say enough good things about him.

Had interactions with this phys. while he was at Bethesda Naval Hosp. He has no compassion for humans and things going on in their lives. If he doesn't like you personally then he takes a passive agressive approach to attach you. Don't trust him.

I had a fine needle aspiration and biopsy on a thyroid nodule- it was absolutely PAINLESS

Dr Poremba has a very advanced understanding of men's hormone systems and taught me an incredible amount about my problem, what its potential causes were, what the tests were and ultimately how to interpret test results and take action. Throughout the process I felt confident that I was in good hands.

Dr. Poremba took the time to review my previous medical history. He asked about current and previous symptoms. He showed and explained to me all tests and procedures previously done, and explained what we should do next. After speaking to and being examined by Dr. Poremba, I am confident that he will see me through whatever is to come. I would recommend him highly.
